7 checklists to consider when building or before releasing a elearning course. Some questions are bleeding obvious, but others are quite deep.

April 3-4 2013: ...we will engage the teaching and learning community in exploring this new online course model. Tour institutional examples of MOOCs, various instructional designs and delivery models, processes, methodologies for setting up and evaluating the model, and implications for teaching and learning.

Alternative classroom designs have emerged that support collaborative learning and shift the focus away from lecture-based formats.

At the core of connected learning are three values: 1. Equity -- when educational opportunity is available and accessible to all young people, it elevates the world we all live in. 2. Full Participation -- learning environments, communities, and civic life thrive when all members actively engage and contribute. 3. Social connection -- learning is meaningful when it is part of valued social relationships and shared practice, culture, and identity. PLNs were discussed quite a bit at the 2012 ascilite conference. Interesting to think of own PLN as a 'space' for learning.

Seems to be an extension of the flipped classroom idea.

Google have announce­d that the media you upload to your Google Drive account from what­ev­er source you've got - be it your smart­phone, your tablet, your Chrome­book, or your desk­top com­put­er - can now be viewed from Google+ and shared direct­ly as well.

"University of the Future", an Ernst & Young report released a week ago is a six month study on the changes in Australian and international universities. According to the study Higher education institutions will need to fundamentally transform their business models to survive; "Over the next 10-15 years, the current public university model in Australia will prove unviable in all but a few cases...".

Here's the link to the report on which the 'Online teaching and workload' seminar (02/11/12) was based. No real surprises, but it is nice to have a report that confirms a lot of what we preach.
