When word of a natural disaster is spreading from somewhere in the world or announced on the news, students can use Google Earth to conduct an investigation of the disaster's effect.

An algebra project focusing on a theme which interests students is more likely to engage them in the project, so lets take a look at sports. Many students participate in sports at some level, whether as part of a school team or a community team. For the most part these same students do not understand the costs involved to host the sport. Also, they do not understand how much money is needed to ensure a profitable season so the sport can continue from year to year.

These courses prepare you for the certification exam and a career as a nursing assistant. You can find CNA training classes through many chapters of the Red Cross, at some nursing care facilities and hospitals and community colleges. Most courses will last from about 3 weeks to 3 months.

The state guides developed by authors from the Federal Writers' Project - a WPA group that came to be during the depression - are fascinating snapshots of the country as it was in the early part of the 20th century. They contain quite a lot of history and local stories and can be a wonderful way to compare the regions with how they currently are.

They might be running a removal company, or a factory, or a shop, or a space station or a French resistance group. Because they behave 'as if they are experts', the children are working from a specific point of view as they explore their learning and this brings special responsibilities, language needs and social behaviours.
