If you meet the minimum requirements to become a nursing assistant, you will need to find a CNA certification course. These courses prepare you for the certification exam and a career as a nursing assistant. You can find CNA training classes through many chapters of the Red Cross, at some nursing care facilities and hospitals and community colleges. Most courses will last from about 3 weeks to 3 months.

A CNA assists the nursing and Physician staffs at hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies in conducting routine medical checks and performing tasks such as feeding and bathing. CNA may also setup medical equipment and monitor overall patient well-being. CNAs always operate under the direct supervision of the nurses and doctors employed by the facility where they work.
