This article is about the causes of poverty. Poverty is caused by overpopulation, unequal distribution of resources, costs of living, inadequate education, and unemployment. I was upset by the some of the causes of poverty, but hopeful too, because some of the causes could be changed in order to end poverty.

This article is extremly useful to me since i'm thinking about doing my report thing on causes. but its amazing how many causes there are and what they are.

I think that the most prominent reasons for poverty are inadequate education and pverpopulation. This makes more sense to why the US has a lot of poverty.

It has facts and stats on poverty like the percentage of people in the world at different poverty levels. And it tells how much people die from poverty. it made me sad that alot of people live on 2.50$ or less on food everyday!

Wow...this article really grabs you with the first few facts. I find it heartbreaking that 1 in 2 children, over 1 billion in all, live in poverty. When one is born into poverty, it's hard to leave it. These 1 billion children may never know what it's like to not be hungry.

Sometimes, it isn't anyone's fault. Some people are born into it. And poverty can be a result of no enough education. I feel very fortunate that both my parents have good jobs, and are educated. I know that some people aren't that lucky.

The world spends money trying to build armies, fight wars and and build econimies which helps the rich but does nothing for the people in poverty. I think this is surprising that the world focuses on helping themselves and not the people that need it but I can beleive that the countries are trying to make themselves more powerful and poverty is a result.

These statistics account for one third of all human deaths. More people die as a result of extreme poverty than of any other cause. There is still 2/3 that people dont evenknow about.18 million is a lot of people. But 18 million is only the number of people recorded who died. There are millions of others dieing every year more than recorded. That was a major shock to me. I dont understand how this many people alone struggle with hunger. They could go days without food in their bodys. That just amazes me.
