How to cut in paint edges and get a straight ceiling line when cutting in walls. - YouTube - 0 views

  •
A video on how to "cut in" while painting. This video is really helpful for people that just learned the technique of cutting in while painting sets. Cutting in allows the painter to smoothly paint along the edges of one wall without getting paint on the other side or the ceiling. It is a very effective technique to use when painting sets. Also, you tube has many other how-to videos if more information is needed!

How much to charge for baked goods - 0 views

  •
This website explained how to figure out how much to price baked goods. It simplified it to show how the math figured the cost. It's a bit confusing to follow but once you read it a couple times it makes since. Kayla and I will most likely be using this method to price our items for the craft fair.

Neocortex - 0 views

This site told me more about the cortex. The differences in how the depth of the cortex changes in different parts of the brain is explained, as its role changes as the white fibers below it have different input locations depending on where in the brain you observe. The different neural layering patterns are shown with colored images, and the differences in how the neurons are connected in varying parts of the brain are also shown. The article also explains the advantages of having gyri in the brain, and how the general structure of the cortex is set us so as to maximize space efficiency. Compared to a mouse brain, which is smooth and does not have any sulci, it makes clear how these oscillating structures provide higher levels of cortical processing. This source also gives insight to how the cortex works, and proved to be of use when I was creating my brain portfolio.

Defending Guantanamo Bay Prisoners - 0 views

This video is about the man who defends the prisoners held in Gitmo by the United States and how he does it. It shows how the prisoners are abused and the hunger strikes they go on. I found it interesting how it all connects to the constitution and politics.

I would love to hear more of how this article triggers your connection to the constitution, specifically our judicial branch.

Three-dimensional Character Questions - 1 views

  •
12/4/13 I found this article on how to make an actor become a three-dimensional character. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts Dee Cannon shares the ten questions that actors need to investigate about their character to make them a fully-idealised person instead of just a character's dialogue with a visual of them. The ten questions and Cannon's advice on how to answer the questions through your character's point of view helped me to understand how professional actor's are able to become the character. A couple of the questions reminded me of what I talked about with Jen Allred about how to act my break-up scene in "A Christmas Carol" well. It also gave me other suggestions that I will use the next character I act.

Step By Step Geodesic Dome Video - 0 views

  •
Work with Nature. "How to Make a Geodesic Dome / Geo Dome / Bio Dome." YouTube. YouTube, 07 Aug. 2012. Web. 09 Oct. 2013. . This is a Youtube video sponsored by Work with Nature where a man shows on camera, step by step, his building geodesic domes (including his calculations and math). He made this video to help other people who are eager in building domes and to tell people about his business of selling these domes to people who don't want the excitement of building their own. The video uses metal piping and it covers cutting the metal, drilling holes, pressing it, attaching them, the math, the construction, what materials to use, and how to cover the dome. This video will be the most helpful tool I will use during my ILO, because as of October 7th, I have decided to use metal piping for a greenhouse and this video is the perfect step-by-step visual instructor. I will basically follow these steps exactly with maybe some background research and experiments from other websites. I have spent a lot of time on YouTube looking for other videos of this caliber, but this one is by far the best. I've read the reviews and comments for this video and it looks like other people have successfully made domes using this video. This video has already proven a huge help to me. Through this video I have made decisions like what materials to use, how to attach them, and how to do the math that is necessary in making a dome. This source is easy to use, and when you miss a step it is easy to go back and watch it until you have it down perfectly. This video has made me much more confident going ahead with my project now that I have such an easy, usable model to go off of. I highly recommend using this source if you need to make a geodesic dome.

Summarize: The main points of this website are different for each chapter. Each book chapter has many online activities to help you cement the Spanish into your brain. The purpose of this website is to practice Spanish through a series of different activities; depending on which lesson that you are on there are certain practices that you can do. There are also many topics depending on the lesson that you are working on practicing, for example in lesson 5A: birthdays and families are the two things to study. This lesson is all about teaching people how to talk about specific family members, how old they are and what things you would see/ have at a party. This website includes lots of information on speaking Spanish. If you are interested in culture that I would look elsewhere, but if you have a Realidad's book along with the book codes found in each lesson, than this is a very practical website for studying and practicing your vocabulary. Review and access: Phschool is a super useful source when studying or practicing. There is a test preparation for each lesson and I use it to see if I have understood all the vocab in each chapter. Other sources haven't been as helpful to me, because they don't follow the Realidad's lessons exactly and don't have all the concepts in our chapters. The information given is definitely reliable because it goes along with a Spanish textbook that our Spanish teacher from Spain recommends using to study. I would recommend this website to anyone who is learning Spanish, because it has helped me learn mine. In the beginning of the lesson everything is fairly easy and as you work your way through the practice the Spanish gets harder until you eventually get to the test preparation. Reflect: This source is very helpful and I continue to use it. Each practice takes between 1-10 minutes depending on how fluent you are at your Spanish. This source has helped to direct my studying and practicing so that I have less to do later on and mor

How Life Began - Roy Gallant - 0 views

  •
Gallant re traces the development of humanity and many different creation stories which are linked in seemingly impossible ways. He emphasizes the theme of life coming the ocean which is a common thread throughout so many creation stories. What was really important to my studies from the sections of the book that I read was the theme of human observation. There is a strong idea that whether it be scientific or religious and fantastical stories of creation, all come from humans depiction of what is around them, and is an attempt to understand how they got to where they are.

10 Amazing Things People's Brains Have Done - HowStuffWorks - 0 views

  •
The article goes over ten amazing things peoples brains have done; The ten things have no connection to each other, but they all are very interesting things that brains have done. For example, the article has one part of the ten devoted to a man named Howard Engel who could write full book, but couldn't read!!!! AHHHH, how weird. The purpose of the article is simple; To go over ten amazing things people's brains have done. The article doesn't cover any issues really, except for one of the people who died from over exhaustion because he didn't sleep for 6 months; Under sleeping is an issue these days, but this part of the article didn't even mention undersleeping being a problem, so no, the article doesn't tackle any issues. If someone asked me what the article is about, I would tell them that the article is about ten amazing things peoples brains have done, plain and simple.

Lesson 1, Unit 2, Level 1 Rosetta Stone Mandarin Chinese - 0 views

  •
This lesson taught me new vocabulary pertaining to how to refer to people and things. I learned how to say things like, "I," "you," and "they." It helped to teach me how to describe, very basically, my feelings toward something. This lesson really helped me to speak Mandarin at a level I was starting to really hope to achieve. I am still extremely basic, but now I can talk about myself and other people instead of just talking about food and basic actions. I would highly recommend getting to at least this lesson in Rosetta Stone because it will really help you to be able to convey much more than what you could before, no matter how basic you still are. This resource is a must to anyone wanted to learn Mandarin Chinese.
