The aim of this conference is to start educators talking, thinking and responding to the 'creating multimodal texts' objective in the Australian Curriculum for English. Multimodality permeates learning in the 21st century. The question remains about how equipped are we, as educators, to support students to create and respond to the diversity of multimodal texts that bombard them every day.

The twelve first-person films that make up this series explore three related themes, each in its own way at the center of current debate about what works, and what's needed, to help students succeed during school and in life.

Shout gives participants a framework for success, with resources and tools for exercising social responsibility while building the 21st-century skills of collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking.

For the educators and ed-tech advocates who work tirelessly to ensure their students have access to a 21st-century education, here's the good news. We have yet more tangible proof that education technology is helping kids learn.

If we are truly working towards 21st century skills, isn't collaboration one of them? Isn't the word "Collaboration" defined as working towards a common goal by sharing knowledge?

This wiki from Wes Fryer is all about cyberbullying and internet safety. "Generally adults help young people learn to drive safely before giving them car keys and turning them loose on the streets of the world. Young people also need guidance and adult assistance to learn how to safely navigate the virtual environments of the 21st Century. Schools must be proactive, rather than merely defensive, in helping students acquire the skills of digital citizenship needed today and in the future. Simply banning read/write web tools on school networks is an inadequate response: Educators must strive to learn alongside students and parents how these technologies can be safely and powerfully used to communicate and collaborate."
