The September 1 issue of Destination CRM included an article highlighting how colleges and universities are not taking full advantage of CRM technology. The article improving student experience and retaining current students as reasons for deployment, but few schools are using CRM to do this. The article includes comment from Joe Burkhart, Director of Higher Education Solutions, Oracle who notes that schools are looking at taking care of existing students - from the admissions office to financial aid to dining halls. Further, the article discusses the growing use of technologies like live chat and web self-service. Of note, the article discusses how DeVry University uses Oracle's RightNow cloud solutions to provide current and prospective students with fast, accurate answers to their questions. It includes comment from Dave Trafton, DeVry's online student service manager, who notes that Oracle RightNow has helped the school become more responsive to student needs. The article also includes comment from David Richter, U.S. Sales Director for Higher Education Service Automation, Oracle who notes that only a handful of schools currently marry student data with their CRM systems.

The October 19 edition of Customer Experience Management includes the following article highlighting Miami University's decision to select Oracle CRM On Demand. The article notes that Miami is replacing its legacy undergraduate admissions system, Recruitment PLUS, with Oracle CRM On Demand, and plans to extend the implementation to the graduate school and regional campus admissions. The article includes comment by Steve Koporec, vice president of applications, Oracle Higher Education, noting that with Oracle CRM On Demand, Miami will have institution-wide visibility and will be able to efficiently monitor prospective and current student progress, as well as support other programs, such as alumni relations and current student, faculty and staff communication.

The February 3 edition of Campus Technology includes the following article highlighting that Vanderbilt University selected Oracle's PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution to overhaul its admissions systems.  The articles notes that Vanderbilt University will use the new system to analyze admissions data and assess institutional programs.  The article includes comment by Douglas Christiansen, vice provost for enrollment and dean of admissions, Vanderbilt University, who notes that by consolidating their previous systems with Oracle's PeopleSoft CRM, and integrating it with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Warehouse and PeopleSoft Performance Management Warehouse, the university can improve reporting and transfer student records and data between departments more efficiently.
