Nothing beats the real thing

Professor Jansen at his best! I have been wondering if MOOC's would work well with entry level students. For me, this Mooc has been stimulating and informative, but then, I already have a post grad university qualification and I wished to update myself on newer research methodologies and advances in information management. It would be interesting to test whether young people who are not initially accepted at university, for whatever reason, could use MOOCs to prepare themselves for their future chosen courses, but that would take a lot of determination, maturity and dedication on their part. Having been a bricks and student myself, I would recommend it to all young people who wish to study after school, but MOOC's do have a place to keep oneself updated. I've learnt so much and I intend to carry on with this research after the course for my own benefit (and who knows maybe register for more MOOCs!)

Un artículo interesante a partir del cual surgen diferentes preguntas ¿cómo afectará a las universidades la oferta de MOOCs? ¿qué implica para profesores y estudiantes? ¿cómo se asegura que no exista pérdida de la diversidad en la enseñanza? ¿cómo nosotros como estudiantes ahora tenemos la responsabilidad de diseñar nuestra curricula? Me parece interesante como el hecho de crear MOOCs llevo a rediscutir y rediseñar los curso en la propia aula. In an earlier issue of ETR&D, the editors provided an hierarchical framework of components to support learning and instruction. That hierarchy included information objects, knowledge objects, learning objects, instructional objects, courses, programs and ongoing efforts, with each subsequent component building on the former components.

A brief article that looks at some of the research emerging from the massive amounts of student use data collected in MOOCs. Points toward directions for future improvements. Still a great deal of focus on the video lecture, as opposed to participant connections.

Open education is the purpose of MOOC. Obviously, open education is a correct trend of education system. MOOC always is a debatable issue, a new area where no rule to control it. In that case, there are some chaos in Open knowledge including intellectual property, and business model of MOOC and so on. But now, the US government decide to promote it, may will bring a bloom to open education and benefit people around the world

The internet has is and will continue to change how we educate our children but we will still be using university's perhaps a younger student population will emerge as access instantaneous, making learning faster , less time required to achieve a high school level.
