Life as a teacher, especially one fresh off attending your own classes, can be hard. You have to wake up early, work late and manage a classroom full of kids, each with their own diverse needs and expectations. Luckily, there are numerous teachers out there who are willing to share their expertise and classroom experiments with teachers young and old. Kids are one of the most curious groups of people on this planet. It is that curiosity that allows them to learn and explore by asking questions. Oftentimes kids will ask their parents questions that they just may not know how to give an answer to. From questions like, where are we going on vacation this year? One of my favorite brain training game sites right now is BrainGames360.com. They have a great collection of high quality games that are all designed to test the different facets that are associated with brain games. Each one is tagged with the cognitive skills it tests, so it is easy for the teacher to track down the type of skill they are looking to practice with their students. All the games have HTML codes that let you put your favorite games on your own classroom blog or website, and they are all organized into categories like Logic, Strategy, Reflex and more. like seeing in someones brain, i love how bookmarks let you see what people really value in their searches through the web. dont ask what mine say?!

Wow, grab some text (intro to a unit or new area of study) paste it in and it creates a wordle, but also lets you see how text is linked, see a thesaurus and more. Very cool.

Take your pick here, let your kids try one and report back to the group or just have a look yourself, some excellent tools here

Have used two of these and they are pretty damn useful. Grade 5-6 you will be into these next year. Anyone tried Stupeflix or One true let me know.
