    The purpose of this website is to provide a list of free jazz sheet music in the keys of Bb, Eb, and bass clef from the "Real Book". The content lists songs from A to Z which provide an audio recording link for each without any ads. Students can use this site to play along with the sheet music and accompaniment provided. It would make a great practice tool in addition to method book material for students of all ages. The author of the site also promotes a "my music apps" page for beginner and experienced musicians.

    I really like the composer-related activities, especially when they related to recorder. I think that many times, students (and parents and classroom teachers) don't view the recorder as a real instrument. I think this is a great way to show them that they can play along with famous classical melodies.

    Apronus Piano is an online piano that works on both touchscreens and with piano keyboards. As opposed to some online keyboard that play C when you press the letter C, D when you press the letter D, it uses the keyboard as close to a piano as possible. The second row of keys corresponds to the white keys on the piano and the number row corresponds to the black keys as they occur (with one or two exceptions). The bottom two rows can be used to play chords. The range of the keyboard can be adjusted to hear different notes. This online piano can be used as extra practice for general music or piano students or as a substitution for a real piano if keyboards are not available but computers are available. It could also be used in conjunction with composition assignments or for choral students to practice vocal lines.

    The online metronome is great when your handheld metronome dies. This metronome can be used in a classroom, during private instructions and at home. The metronome has a range of 40 bpm to 208 bpm with present intervals. Tempo descriptors (Largo through Prestissimo) are provided for the piece that do not provide the exact beats per minute. A4 at 440Hz is also provided.

    This free online metronome proves handy for in-class rehearsals and other applications, in classrooms with students of all ages. User can easily set the tempo using the dial and the steady beat will continue until stopped. It also features tempo markings on the dial for ease of use. I use this at least once a week in my classroom.

    The purpose of this site is to allow music students to practice with a metronome. This site could also be played over a loud system in the classroom, so that an ensemble could play along to the beat and keep a steady tempo. I like how the tempos are labeled with bpm as well as their tempo names.

    The Sight Reading Factory link is one of the best sight-reading websites I have come across to date.  Within the free demo, I was able to access sight reading exercises for a number of band, instrumental, and vocal practice lessons.  In my personal exploration of the demo, I first looked into locating sight reading exercises for piano.  I was able to edit the time signature and key signature before seeing the practice exercises.  This feature is GREAT for people who are learning to play/count in different meters or using accidentals in their piano playing.  The same can be said for people learning to utilize solfedge in their singing, utilize new fingerings in their instrumental playing, or simply challenge themselves.  The website offers multiple difficulty levels, making the use of this website in a secondary music school setting ideal.  Sight reading exercises and study are some of the major contributors to my development as a musician and educator.  Since the exercises are generated on command, the site provides unlimited sight reading exercises to its users, making its longevity a strong selling-point.

    This site can be used for practicing sight reading. The possibilities of combinations of notes, short songs, and everything can be found here. I have even found that state all-state bands have used it to create their sight reading pieces for all state band. It does cost, but the price can be worth it even if just a teacher subscription is bought.

The videos are a little dry but if you don't want to go through a book/music library to find a particular song, this would be a great reference if you want to study Disney songs either through the lense of theory or performance accuracy,

Thanks to programs like "Essentially Ellington" there has been a real push to provide music educators with the best resources and opportunities, even going as far as providing free charts for any band program to apply for.     As a beginning band teacher, this program is incredibly valuable. Be Part of the Band is a fantastic resource to aide music educators in the recruitment process. The program offers high quality tools to help attract as many students to the band program as possible. Proper recruitment is crucial to the success of a program but is sometimes overlooked, and this program has a variety of ways to help bridge the gap between participating and non-participating students. On top of everything, the resources on this website are completely free of charge.

This website provides free resources for both recruitment and organization for bands. Individuals are able to make donations to the program, but no payment is required. Beapartoftheband.com not only provides demonstration videos for each instrument, the site also provides eighteen documents to assist with the recruitment process.

    Band recruitment is the biggest event in the life of a band director.  This site features high quality tools to help make our lives easier. It also features famous people that have been band members.  Students need to relate to the bigger picture sometimes.  They need to see that big athletic stars can be in the band as well.  I am always looking for new perspective to recruitment.

    This is an awesome resource that's student-friendly and focuses on instruments of the orchestra, as well as composers. It creates a strong connection between concept and real-world scenarios. The website is designed around the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. There are engaging and interactive games and lessons for students to learn about the orchestra and test their knowledge.

    Very engaging and visually appealing website from the New York Philharmonic. Unfortunately many of the links would not work; however, one really cool feature is that there are recordings of symphony performances that can be viewed in a classroom. Much better quality of video than many available videos on YouTube.
