Music Ace is general music education software that comes in commercial and education editions. The software is installed on a computer (not online/cloud), and includes a variety of games and activities which focus on general music theory. There is also doodle pad feature which allows the user to compose using a variety of instruments and sounds. This software title is generally appropriate for elementary grades, but may have usability for other age groups too.

Garritan is a virtual instrument provider often bundled with Finale Notation Software. The virtual instrument player is called Aria, and various sound collections are available for purchase. In my experience, the VST works well with Finale, however, does not work well by itself or with other DAWs. This may be due to the low memory and processing speed of my computer.

Apronus Piano is an online piano that works on both touchscreens and with piano keyboards. As opposed to some online keyboard that play C when you press the letter C, D when you press the letter D, it uses the keyboard as close to a piano as possible. The second row of keys corresponds to the white keys on the piano and the number row corresponds to the black keys as they occur (with one or two exceptions). The bottom two rows can be used to play chords. The range of the keyboard can be adjusted to hear different notes. This online piano can be used as extra practice for general music or piano students or as a substitution for a real piano if keyboards are not available but computers are available. It could also be used in conjunction with composition assignments or for choral students to practice vocal lines.

Choral Potpourri/Choral Ethics: Auditions is a blog article by Marie Grass Amenta about a man who began his career as a demanding and emotionless choir director. His interpersonal skills were non-existant with his choir. After self-reflection he soon discovers this is not really who he is. The Percussive Arts Society is also a membership and subscription service as well as providing a annual conference across the country.

Becoming a member grants access to an extensive archive of videos, publications, and articles related to percussion pedagogy, performance, etc. PASIC, the international convention hosted by PAS, is a multi-day event featuring percussionists and lecturers as well as networking opportunities.

The Percussive Arts Society website provides several resources for music educators. There are magazine subscriptions available as well. This site can help not only percussionists, but non-percussionist educator who are looking to find help in teaching percussion.

Music Ed Blogs is a website that features information about all areas of music education. The website itself is a collection of, what it rates as being, the best music education blogs. There is a wide variety of resources available to the viewer on Music Ed Blogs. They have articles on everything from why you should attend a conference to songs and games for Valentine's Day. The website also has several free resources that would be especially useful to a new, or first year, teacher.

Although this website doesn't focus on one specific blog or concept area, it's a great resource to find a wide array of information. Not everything on this website will interest everyone, but it's easy to find something that pertains to your subject area. It also includes a wide variety of bloggers, thus giving the reader the opportunity to see content that they normally might miss.

This website offers an abundance of music you can order for your performing groups, soloists, mixed ensembles, etc. There a variety of way to search for specific types of music such as "Holiday", "Classical", "Sacred", etc. J.W. Pepper has a wide collection from well known publishers. This is my go to choice for when it comes to ordering music for my program. You also have the ability to narrow your search down by grade level which makes it very easy when planning your program.

J. W. Pepper is an excellent website/resource for sheet music, accompaniment tracks, and much more. Their customer service is excellent. Many of the songs have a play feature so you can listen easily. You can search by genre, voicing, holiday, and pretty much any other category to find exactly the right song for your students.

J.W. Pepper is an online retailer for sheet music. They sell all kinds of music, from solo parts to full band parts. Most of the music they sell also has a demo track so the music can heard before a purchase is made.

The graphics on this website are amazing- any child would enjoy browsing through and learning about musical instruments, composition, and composers. Also very neat is the game where you can "play" different musical instruments. The numbers on the computer keypad become notes in a scale!

This is owned and operated by the San Francisco symphony. It requires Adobe flash so desktop computers are suggested for use.

This is a website that i have used with my students, more so free time. Allowing to practice their skill but also have fun doing it as it relates to games. The purpose of this would be for students to explore having fun with music!.

Welcome to Opus Music Worksheets, a database of high quality, free printable music education resources for download, including free sheet music, music theory worksheets, music flashcards, music business forms, and many other free music learning resources for music teachers, music students, and parents.

Opus Music has a great series of music worksheets suitable for general music and ensemble classes. The lessons are sequential and logical and provide clear descriptions of each topic in the lesson material before providing exercises for completion. The worksheets are available in downloadable PDF formats. These worksheets would also work well as substitute assignments if needed as a non-music teacher could figure out the directions.

The Opus Music website is a great resource for teachers looking for free printables. It is not a in-depth site, but instead offers a series of music theory worksheets, speed note name tests as well as flashcards and teacher printables for: business cards, lesson registration, lesson assignment and lesson billing. This site is geared towards a private studio teacher, but I have found the theory worksheets useful for beginning music students as well. All the material is free. There are also links to music teaching resources.

A Great marching band game that teaches students the fundamentals of drill design. There are some setbacks as there is not music with it, but it's a fun application for students to experiment with and design shows.

A great resource for finding choral music. You can search or click on seasons, styles, composers, etc. This is a very useful site for anyone who teaches choir.

This wiki has thousands of choral works available for use, free of charge. Music can be accessed by season or composer, making locating songs easier.

ChoralWiki is like the wikipedia of choral music. This website has a lot of choral songs that either music teachers composed or even music from the past that was not included with copyright laws. The best part about this website is that all of the music is free!
