This helps students realize the thought behind creating music, which they can then transfer to their school music class. Students can go on the page and select a podcast of the history of the composers being studied during a particular season. Then they can submit a short write up based on the podcast and have short discussions before rehearsal.

There are interactive games for development of rhythm, composition, and note naming skills, as well as loads of information on composers, music professions, and music time periods.You can also access some prominent compositions for students to listen to, as well as activity sheets for your students to complete based on a composer, or genre of music.

Also, FMEA hosts honor ensembles to promote excellent in student achievement.     Classics For Kids is a great website with fun activities and music resources for use in the classroom. Each month, they feature a different composer and provide activities, handouts, and listening maps that help students learn about various topics in classical music history. There are also online games for kids and lesson plans for teachers.

    Classics for kids is a great website for any music teacher. This site provides activity sheets, game ideas, and recordings music. This site also has biographies of composers, which is where I generally find out more information on composers too because they are easy to read through and great for kids.

    This is a free resource with interactive information and games about composers, music history, listening, and basic music theory. The site also include a parent and teacher resource page, printable activity sheets, and composer timelines.

    Classics for Kids is a great way for students to learn about composers and different genres of music. There are short podcasts that students can listen to that have three questions attached to them. The podcasts are about different types of music and different composers. Each podcast plays popular music from the composer and incorporates jokes for the students to listen to. The website also includes note and rhythm games for students to practice. There are also lesson plans for teachers with links for National Standards.

There are lesson plans also available for teachers, and a parent information link is also available. This is a great site for introducing students to the genre of classical music.

    This site serves as the primary hub of information for anything dealing with drum and bugle corps (competition schedules, show announcements, new developments within the organization, etc.). DCI serves as a model for many competitive marching programs around the world, especially those who participate in the Bands of America circuit.     This site advocates for music edcuation. It provides information through blogs, articles, and research. The topics of discussion include arts as a core subject, formal teacher evaluation procedure for arts classes, engaging students in music classes, and the importance of providing an arts education to every student. A nice aspect of this site is that it provides information not only in the form of text, but also graphs and charts. This makes the information presented easy to comprehend for a larger audience. Teachers can use the informaion from these research studies and blogs to ensure that their music program is genuinely helping all of the students and to educate themselves on the importance of music education/its place in todays changing views on the arts as a core subject.
