This is the official ACDA website. You can find information about conferences, as well as access resources and connect with colleagues. If you teach choir, being a member of ACDA is a must.

The purpose of this resource is wide and varied. Not only does this resource provide choral music educators with a professional development community but also looks at a range of topic regarding singing both in the individual and choral setting. Membership in this organization does cost a fee but there are many benefits for music educators who teach choir.

Benefits of marching band

The purpose of this blog is to collaborate with other musicians about issues dealing with performance, creativity, developing ones career, and (most importantly) technology. There are blogs that allow readers to interact with each with the objective being to gain perspective on other musicians point of views. The blogs includes monthly newsletters, different tags for information such as performance anxiety and music career guidance, benefits on recording music, how to practice with a positive mental attitude, and how to talk to audiences as well as how to not talk to them. This information is for the public to view and gain insight on their goal towards becoming a better musician and educator.

As well as the feedback, this site is for the general musician audience to search for resources that will help with teaching in schools and responding to young musicians. This is a great article and video about a popular music class. Students at the University of Nebraska are given the opportunity to take a class that focuses on learning, performing and creating popular music and its benefits.

This website helps to assist teachers in finding example lesson plans for their subject matter.  The site also allows students to search and find a teacher for their instrument.  I would benefit from the lesson plans feature particularly for music theory.

This site provides numerous rhythm and movement activities for young children with the help from rhythm sticks. Such activities help to develop fine motor skills and their sense of rhythm, which will greatly benefit early elementary students, as well as students with special needs.

The Choristers Guild foundation promotes the music and spiritual development of young singers. I am interested in learning more about the organization. Members have access to online tutorial teaching videos, skype lessons, and monthly jounral subscriptions. Benefits of membership also include discounted rates on ordering music. This looks like a wonderful organization that would be beneficial to a choral educator.
