Billionaire Richard Branson has had the golden touch with many businesses in the Virgin Group. Now his company hopes to work its magic again with an all-new Virgin Games online gaming tournament business. The company is announcing today it has made an investment in the online game tournament site Worldgaming.com and is rebranding it as Virgin Games. Branson's move, which will be highlighted by his appearance at a press conference during the E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles today, shows that video games are gaining importance in the larger entertainment and media market.

Wiiwaa is like this plush toy that you put a wii remote into and then you can control the stuffed toy on the Wii via the included video game. It looks kinda cool. A similar idea could be explored for something like cartoon but using less expensive tech/games than a video game console.

Gatorade released a playable video game ad on Snapchat celebrating the career of tennis star Serena Williams. The game is called Serena Williams' Match Point, and it can be played within the ESPN Discover channel on Snapchat.

YouTube Gaming is due to launch today. The service is YouTube's answer to Twitch and is designed primarily to support video game streaming, as well as providing a dedicated interface for people to browse and watch videos of games.
