BevyUp is out to make online shopping a social and collaborative experience for customers. The company helps online retailers turn their websites into social platforms where customers can invite friends to tag along while they shop in their online stores.
Facebook dropped from 53 million total unique viewers in July to 47 million in August, and from 327 million total videos watched in July to 261 million in August.
"CPG clients will continue to spend a lot on video to replace the erosion of audiences for TV," said Gina Smilyansky, digital strategy director at Aegis-owned Carat, in reference to users' increased use of devices such as laptops and tablets. Carat currently works with CPG giant Procter & Gamble, with Smilyansky focusing on the Gillette brand.
Sony is bringing ad-supported movies from Crackle (its online video venture) to its set top TV/Blu-Ray Players and Roku, the only non-Sony product it will be available on.
"The study, which aimed to analyze consumer shopping behavior from the point of sale backwards, found that 31 percent of shoppers used YouTube to shop for apparel. And, 37 percent watched a video on a retail website to make a purchase."
