Una volta compiuti i sottotitoli di questo secondo video, non si potranno aggiungere direttamente al primo, perché c'è una lieve discrepanza di durata. Però sarà possibile scaricarli come semplice trascrizione non sincronizzata, e aggiungere questa trascrizione al primo video, lasciando che sia il softare YouTube a sincronizzarla col video per produrre sottotitoli.

Un approfondimento sui software protetti che rendono i libri di testo digitali non accessibili. Un invito a tutti i docenti a ribellarsi e non adottare questi testi. Grazie a Claude per la segnalazione.

Disponibile per un'altra esperienza Translator Toolkit - ma stavolta eliminiamo eventuali doppi spazi ;) Lingro lo uso perché avevo messo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XejH7tnOVKA - un video tutto vuoto di 1 ora 46 minuti - su YT, perché mi serviva per provare dirottamenti di Amara.org, spiegandolo nella descrizione. Però un cretino di aggregatore russo lo ha pescato quindi sono arrivate visualizzazioni a caterva, e anche commenti poco ameni in russo e altre lingue slave. Allora per poter decidere se erano semplicemente volgari e insultanti o addirittura minacciosi, metto la pagina in lingro. Tanto, la sintassi è sempre la stessa pressapoco nelle lingue indo-europee. (Alla fine poi, ho aggiunto annotazioni sul video per promuoverne altri che mi piacevano: uè se mi devo far insultare, tanto vale che serva a qualcosa).

Ho provato ora: traduce una parola alla volta con più eventuali accezioni. Ci vuole una pazienza! ...però evita i discorsi a pera dei traduttori automatici. Ancora grazie, Claude.

Una sera, Dwi Rianto, un sottotitolatore indonesiano con chi c'eravamo incontrati virtualmente sottotitolando gli stessi video di PBS, mi ha chiesto se lo avrei aiutato a fare i sottotitoli originali, che voleva tradurre in indonesiano. Poi si era giunta al progetto Esther Premkumar, che sottotitola in spagnolo, anche lei incontrata intorno ai video PBS. Da qui http://www.amara.org/videos/0p0B0ceB1VdU/info/pompeii-buried-alive/ . La cosa che mi interpella è che mentre stavamo sottotitolando, Dwi ci ha spiegato che il suo interesse per Pompeii è religioso, perché lui è un musulmano credente (ma non bigotto). E anche nei commenti al video della BBC che hai linkato qui, diversi sono di musulmani che leggono la storia di Pompeii in senso religioso. Chissà se ci sono anche interpretazioni cristiane ed ebraiche di questo storia?
