Time is key when working in healthcare, and the speed of access to data could assist in saving someones life.
  • many companies will strive to increase their ability to store, process, analyze, and secure essential healthcare data. As a result, instead of using various cloud providers for multiple applications or disaster recovery, such cohesive approaches will become more common.
  • The Company has been awarded 11 contracts thus far in Q2, six of which are additional expansions with existing customers.
    • jordynmiddleton

As companies expand there cloud-based services, they will become much more attractive to current clients with wanting to take their business to the next level.
  • The current healthcare cloud computing market is valued at nearly $18 billion and is expected to increase by almost 18.7% between 2022 and 2025.
  • there will be a greater need for security, privacy, and compliance

    • jordynmiddleton

Cloud-based software would be at the top of the list for these upgrades and modernizations which would increase revenue substantially for multiple cloud services. The same exact software needed for a major hospital may not be need for urgent care or small primary care office, but the software is needed none the less.
  •
Software as a Service is becoming an essential part of the healthcare community. The time saved researching information about a patient, searching for medications or treatments could be valuable time needed for saving a life. It is project that "the number of businesses using cloud-based apps is expected to increase by 19.6%." With the increase in the use of cloud-based applications, there is a stronger need for the attention given to data security. Especially when it comes to patient information. Multiple cloud based options may initially be utilized before phasing into singular sources over time. This will alleviate some of the pressure needing to have the increased security for two platform rather than one.

  •
The article address the importance of today's capital expenditure and how it attracts new and recurring guests to its properties. Some of these capital expenditures are executed for solely esthetic reasons, even adding more bandwidth to the internet is done to show its clientele that they no longer offer just the average features anymore.

  • Recently acquired by delivery startup DoorDash, Sally is a salad-making robot, mixing up to 8 fresh ingredients from vegetables to salmon into a compostable bowl in just 90 seconds!
  • Cecilia.ai is a smart, interactive bartender that can be placed almost anywhere, serve mixed drinks in less than 30 seconds, and give customers guidance about the menu using AI and speech recognition.
  • The entire process can be automated in this modular and customizable system, starting with spreading the sauce, topping it with cheese, then adding pepperoni and three more ingredients and baking the pizza.
  • Picnic can produce hundreds of pizzas per hour with just one operator, allowing the rest of the staff to be occupied with the rest of the food
  • The startup recently raised $16.3 million and has plans to install its robot in schools, stadiums and hospitals.
  • The Mini Bakery, built and designed by Wilkinson Baking Company, is a fully automated system for baking bread. It does all the mixing, shaping, proofing and baking, allowing bread to be sold hot and fresh directly to customers just like a vending machine
  • Even though the system was built for supermarkets, we don't see any reason why it couldn't be used in restaurants or hotel kitchens.
  • This countertop device makes authentic artisan gelato, fruit sorbets, frozen yogurt and ice coffee using biodegradable capsules, which can also be used as the serving bowl. Solato is ideal for small cafes and restaurants looking to upgrade their menu with fresh ice cream without wasting precious space and money.

  • If you have bedrooms, tables or leisure services then you know how important it is to manage them efficiently. Software is purely a tool a tool of the trade so to speak. However what is very important is that it is reliable and doesn't cost the earth. Without electricity it would be next to impossible to keep a hotel open and today with the increase in competition, the most efficient hotels are the ones that will prosper.
  • A hotel PMS is something that all people who own and run hotels should look into getting. The efficient manner in which the hotel may be run with the hotel PMS is only one of the many benefits you can get. Of course you do not have to buy the top of the range software as getting the core module may be enough to cover your needs.

  • With a good cloud based PMS suite, you should be able to manage your own reservations without paying commission

The Property Management software also allows the report issues they have noticed like repairs that need to be done. •
I think that finding the perfect property management software for your company is absolutely vital because it is going to cost you a lot of money and time to learn how to use the new system and you do not want to purchase the wrong one. From basic motels to fancy hotels and resorts every place should have an effective property management system and one that suits their needs. A basic motel might need one but does not need one with all the bells and whistles that a fancy upscale resort would need.
  •
This article introduces the importance of the PMS in the hotel. When the hotels choose the PMS software, the simple and smart one is a better choice. For most efficient system, it always includes guest management, housekeeping, reservations, online booking and billing management. The advantage of the PMS is less cost. The hotels choose a good PMS will not only save money but also manage the hotel in a wonderful condition. The PMS can help the hotel store data and keep track of the housekeeping that the manager will solve some problems between housekeeping and customers. In a word, choosing a good PMS is necessary for the hotel.

How to Compare HRIS Systems | eHow.com - 0 views

  • When comparing HRIS options, companies should consider the types of employee data and processes that will take place in the system.
  •
According to the article, at first, every company has different needs. Some may require a system to handle payroll, while others may require a system to handle attendance or training. Secondly, establishing a budget is key because it determines how much money can be spent to purchase the HRIS. Costs differ widely depending on the number of employees and how much information the system will maintain. Thirdly, narrowing the list to four or five options makes it easier to compare those that have all the required functionality and are within the budget. Finally, companies should determine whether the system will be purchased using a site license or as software-as-a-service (SAAS).

What Are the Benefits of a POS System in a Restaurant? | eHow.com - 0 views

  • A common profit reducing problem for many restaurant owners is theft.
  •
POS system specializes in easy to use, fully customizable Point of Sale Systems and POS Software to meet the needs of almost any business environment. Especially in restaurant, the POS system could instead of battling other servers to get hand-written tickets to the kitchen; restaurant servers enter the information into the POS system, which sends it to the kitchen automatically for speedier, more convenient service. The convenience of the POS system may come at a price. If your computer system goes down and your staff has no training to process orders manually, or isn't used to doing so, you could lose a lot of money while waiting for the system to go back up--either because you have to close or because your staff makes too many mistakes. POS system records each and every transaction and can help to manage inventory and reduce shrinkage.

Resistant to the inevitable: How technology is changing the restaurant industry - The Next Web - 0 views

  • Between the arrival of mobile devices on the table, online reservations, social media, and new payment methods, technology has infiltrated the food and restaurant industry like never before. Some of the advances will serve to improve the experience — both for the industry and for the patron.
  •  According to a recent article in the USA Today, restaurants in San Francisco, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and in other parts of the United States are starting to allow patrons to use iPads to place their orders. While this may be a welcome sign for the industry as a whole (which, according to the piece, has been flat due to the economic downturn since 2007), it might not work out so well for the servers who are displaced by a tablet.
  • Payroll is one of the largest controllable expenses in the industry, and keeping it as low as possible can have a huge impact on a restaurant’s bottom line.
  • ...4 more annotations...
  • Besides replacing menus (and possibly those who take your order from them), tablets have the potential to help hosts deal with incoming patrons who may have reservations.
  • But the use of mobile devices isn’t limited to the serving side of things. They can be used to track inventory, regular checklists, and can go so far as to be used in a similar way we use in our own home kitchens – as a way to help out new kitchen workers get a handle on the restaurant’s menu items.
  • Social networking sites have played a huge role in shaping the views of society on a myriad of issues, and they are also playing a role in shaping people’s opinions of dining establishments. With Foursquare, customers can leave their thoughts on a restaurant
  • The transaction was seamless and didn’t seem at all out of place considering the environment I was in. I mean, I didn’t even think about the notion of having Square in a food and restaurant setting, and here it was.
  •
This article is about the new technology trends in restaurants around the US. The article shows how large cities like Chicago and New York are not only using tablets to have customers place orders, but are also using APPS.
  •
Technology has never been more intuitive than it is today, and it's only getting better. It allows restaurant patrons to find restaurants, rate them, and decide where they want to spend their hard-earned money when they go out to eat. It allows restaurant owners to be more efficient and effective in the areas they feel can be streamlined by hardware and software. But if used in the wrong place and at the wrong time, it can do a restaurant great harm - as it can with any industry.

No matter in what kind of biz, before we make a decision to adopt new technology, it's better to do a SWOT analysis at first. The HRIS solution - Express Hospitality - 0 views

  • The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is a software, an online solution for the data entry, data tracking, and data information needs of the Human Resources (HR) and management functions within a business. Normally packaged as a data base, hundreds of companies sell some form of HRIS and every HRIS has different capabilities.
  • New business intelligence technologies offer HR departments the ability to invest in Human Capital Management analytics solutions designed to yield the insights essential for making informed decisions on HR. Business intelligence allows HR departments to become a strategic asset within the organisation.
  • Future of human resources analysis has to be linked to other key performance indicators such as revenue and profitability. HR professionals must understand the organisation’s business plans and the operational, financial and customer-facing goals they are expected to achieve. Then they should associate these goals with the existing workforce metrics. In many cases, HR information is scattered, which leads to non-systematic hiring, training, measurement data which is essential these days, as globalisation, tight labour markets and an aging workforce are causing many businesses to more closely inspect the performance of their largest investment, i.e. the workforce whose compensation represents 60 per cent to 70 per cent of the entire expenses of the organisation. New business intelligence technologies offer HR departments the ability to invest in Human Capital Management analytics solutions designed to yield the insights essential for making informed decisions on HR. Business intelligence allows HR departments to become a strategic asset within the organisation. It helps the HR department make key decisions around recruitment, planning, and budgeting to support the strategic goals. More than ever before, HR professionals are being asked to show how their company’s workforce policies affect the overall business plan. Investing time and money in software solutions is the need of the hour.

Using information technology to assist in Human Resources allows easier management of information and benefit plans. Human Resources will be able to measure their contributions easier and become more accountable for their specific work. Many high-end hotels use web based HRIS, which enables a corporate executive team to have access to the data. This also allows team members to access their own data, apply for leaves, or change their residential address. HRIS has great benefits that can be used in the hospitality and tourism industry. Human Resources can be easily scattered and confusing to new hires, so having a better systematic system that is computerized makes information clearer. When much of the hospitality industry is under globalized companies this can benefit companies when they have properties all over the world. Corporate offices can easily access human resources information from another part of the globe at anytime of the day, instead of having to call up a human resource manager who may be in a different time zone. HRIS makes life easier and allows human resources to show policies and business plans in an easier way.
  •
The Hospitality industry is known to have very high attrition rates. This makes it all the more critical to have a robust HR information system (HRIS) in place. This article highlights the fact that Carrier Enterprise is going to showcase its new money-saving HVAC and Energy Management Systems at the Asian American Hotel Owners Association trade show. Carrier enterprise is the leading provider of temperature and energy control technologies for commercial and residential properties. At the AAHOA trade show CE will be presenting its new hospitality-specific HVAC and energy saving systems. The new system is called E-TAC, Engineered Terminal Air Conditioner. The smart technology that E-TAC provides puts control of energy back into the hoteliers hands. The E-TAC is energy efficient, has a dry mode, maximum set point limits that can be preprogrammed. they are remote controlled, they have a sleep timer to save energy, and lastly, it has been implemented with silencing fan technology which is perfect for hotel guestrooms. Accompanying the E-TAC with Carrier Enterprise at the AAHOA trade show is their new P-TAC Air Purification System. This will eliminate unhealthy indoor environments while also reducing odor, air pollutants, smoke, mold, bacteria and viruses, and chemical odors. The Air Knight was specifically designed for HVAC units of hotels. I believe we will see both of these new technologies thrive in the near future.

"A New Meeting Frequency" discusses near-field communication (NFC) and its gaining popularity with the meeting and event planning industry. This form of communication enables smart devices to have communication between each other; one acts as the writer, the other as the reader. According to meeting tech consultant Corbin Ball, "NFC marks the next step toward a cashless and paperless society".  Barclaycard and Chase, just to name a few, have adopted ISIS Mobile Wallet which lets customers make payments and collect rewards. "Industry professionals are beginning to see adoption in interactive events and business-to-customer trade shows", and are present in some current NFC applications. Contactless payment, automated ticketing, social networking, exchange of information (maps, business cards), registration, attendance access and control are some of the major ways this technology is utilized presently in the industry. Usage is slowly on the rise, particularly with regard to corporate networking events, and potential is huge.  NFC technology is extremely innovative, saves money and can be a great marketing tool.

  • EMSs can also hold down costs by making maintenance more efficient. “Our system is recording the run hours of the unit by the second. If we say after 200 hours runtime, that’s when we want to set our filter change, we can create reports for our maintenance staff [saying] that maybe these are the rooms that are occupied the most,
  • or the lighting control system, we would replace current light switches and receptacles and have that communicate wirelessly with the occupancy system.

  • ability to interface with the PMS, so upon guest check-in and guest check-out, our system is capturing that data,” said John Gallant, president and CEO of WiSuite USA. “So when we check in at that front desk, the network sends a signal that the guest is coming up and cools the room. By the time we walk into the room, cool air is going to be blowing set to 72 degrees. If the guest wants to turn it down, he or she has the ability to do that; so while the guest has rented the room, they have full control of the thermostat. When we check out, a signal goes out to put the room in energy-savings mode.

This article talks about the benefit of having Energy management system. Wisuite USA technology can save owner money by using their energy management system. The system interface with the PMS to adjust the temperature of a guest room when a guest check in or out of a hotel. It can also let the engineer department know when to change the filter base on the data they get. The data they get from the system can also adjust the room temperature to the guest comfort level. I feel that the this energy saving system is a great system for the hotel industry. It doesn't make sense to leave the air conditioner on at 50 degree Fahrenheit when the guest check out and it save the housekeeping team time from having to adjust the temperature to the right temperature.
