University of Wisconsin at Madison has partnered up with Physical Plant and the UW police department to upgrade their security system. Instead of the traditional hardwired cameras the university has switched to wireless cameras which should offer more benefits. The wireless cameras will allow all the cameras to be seen at one location instead of at the specific buildings or nearby locations. The new cameras are now color instead of black and white and have a highly upgraded motion sensor compared to the old ones. I think these cameras will help the university and help them bring the crime rate down around campus.

The company Experian Marketing Services recently performed a survey asking marketers their approach to holiday plans this season. Ninety-six percent of the marketers surveyed planned to invest this year in e-marketing services. Another survey showed that the amount of money President Obama spent on online marketing could have helped him in his re-election. E-marketing is in my opinion one of if not the most effective way to market products and services.

An Event Management Software firm has launched mobile applications for specific meetings and events to encourage attendees to participate and review certain aspects of the specific event. The company has been in the mobile industry for a few years now and are working their way up the ladder with some pretty large events. The mobile apps the company offers are quite interesting and are a great way to keep the people attending the event involved. In a specific case during a presentation a guest speaker was not fully understood by some people and the attendees were able to review the speaker afterwards saying they didnt totally understand the technology of the app allowed the speaker to come back out and clarify themself. The company is certainly going in the right direction and offers great technological advances to a variety of different fields who host conferences and business events.

The FTC filed suit against Wyndham Hotels for millions of dollars worth of fraud in June of this year. Wyndham hotels manages over 7,00 hotels worldwide. Incidents occurred a numerous amount of times over the past three years. The company was hacked into and stole credit card numbers from over 500,000 clients. In the first occurrence the money was wired into an account in Russia. Even after the first incident Wyndham hotels did not fix the security breach allowing the hackers to get in.

The software is back end accounting software which its investors believe to be the best in the business. The company has brought along over 120 plus new hotels in their recent acquirement including Summit Hotel Properties who has over 80 hotels. The company offers three different solutions to all your back end hospitality industry needs; Profitvue, Targetvue, and Execuvue.

The multi-bilion dollar NCR Corporation has invested in a new and innovative barcode scanner for a mobile POS system from a company named Socket Mobile. Socket Mobile has 20 years experience in the industry and offers a variety of products that increase productivity and drive operational efficiencies. The barcode scanner will allow its users to offer a greater standard of service to customers. The barcode scanner can be wirelessly used and brought around place to place using bluetooth. A great example in the article it mentions the product could be used outside the store at say a farmers market or street fair. The product has a high level of technology and offers better features than a traditional wireless scanner.

The article is a few years old and some of the ideas have already came into affect but there are also a few other ideas that sparked some interest. The article mentions that you need to let go of the things that do not support your ability to move forward and that it would be a good idea to look at new and different business models involving Property Management Systems where you can ultimately achieve growth.

The idea is to have a personalized hotel room where you can feel like you are anywhere in the world at any place. The hotel would incorporate a number of high tech devices such as 3d screens, tablet pc's, and virtually invisible computers. The idea also brings on a green side where the hotel would involve bioengineered reusable products into play. A lot of the ideas in the article seem a little far fetched but are still foreseeable to come along with the advances in technology.
