    This site accompanies a book I bought recently and would highly recommend as a useful guide for high school history students. It contains research and writing style guides and heaps of online resources (which I'm going to add to the group anyway). It's written for introductory undergraduate students yet would be useful for senior high school history students and is written and organised clearly and effectively.

The home of record may be the place the person entered military service or that person's residence at that time.     Has articles and some source material links related to World History. The site (run out of University of Illinois, by the looks) has a strong focus on 'big history.' I hadn't encountered this term before; it seems to mean looking at history not through civilisations but rather periods or regions. If that description is wrong and someone could provide more accuracy on 'big history' that would be cool.

    The journal focuses on the New World History (looking at the world at a global scale across time) as opposed to the one civilization at a time approach.     Again, the journal is not specifically focused on Big History but on the New World History, but it did have one issue on Big History as its forum: http://worldhistoryconnected.press.illinois.edu/6.3/ More links than you probably want here about Big History: http://worldhistoryconnected.press.illinois.edu/6.3/maunu2.html This month's forum is on Latin America. Other forums range the gamut of world history.

    The scores and libretti in this Virtual Collection include first and early editions and manuscript copies of music from the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries by J.S.     Great short easily digestable film clips, documents, and challenges that follow the standards fairly closely. Both regular and AP versions of U.S. History - geared toward high school but I use these clips regularly with my 8th grade class. They tend to retain information from the clips much better than information fron their text (TCI).

    Primary sources devoted to helping people understand why the C20th was a time of such visceral conflict. If you believe Niall Ferguson it had to do with ethnic diversity in regions of deteriorating economic conditions and declining imperial control. My high school history teacher reckoned it was ideologies. Many of you will no doubt have other ideas...

I also want to use it to connect with people who are interested in education and interested in smart inclusion of technology into the classroom.     Has links to some example course documents from universities and a high school in America and Australia. I'm always interested in checking out how other people organise their courses; I'm redoing our Modern History Program at the moment. I prefer the chronological rather than thematic approach, although it seems it's going out of fashion these days.

    These fellows presented their online study resource - which includes, introductions, lesson plans, timelines, fun facts, summaries and test reviews, and a large image gallery sorted by time period - at a conference I attended in Pasadena last Spring. I think it is better for High School teachers and students. I teach 8th grade and use it mostly for my own edification.
