The online version of the Alexander Graham Bell Family Papers at the Library of Congress comprises a selection of 4,695 items (totaling about 51,500 images). This presentation contains correspondence, scientific notebooks, journals, blueprints, articles, and photographs documenting Bell's invention of the telephone and his involvement in the first telephone company, his family life, his interest in the education of the deaf, and his aeronautical and other scientific research. Dates span from 1862 to 1939, but the bulk of the materials are from 1865 to 1920

A rare find at Tel Dor, Israel. Alexander the Great identified as the engraved image on gem, believed to have been commissioned durring the Hellenistic period in history.

In the 1950s and 1960s planners in Harrisonburg, VA implemented a federally sponsored slum clearance and urban renewal program. Seeking to compare this redevelopment effort with the urban renewal efforts in other major cities, students in James Madison University's US Urban Social History Course have begun digitizing relevant primary documents. These files are drawn from Harrisonburg's City Council minutes as well as records located at the Department of Planning and Community Development, the Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and in local planner Robert Sullivan's personal collection. The files are organized by the location where the originals are currently located. Indices and summaries of relevant Daily New Record articles will be added shortly. Seems to give thorough and accurate definitions of terms related to Classical history. Seems to be neglecting the reality that Asia had Ancient History too, but that's a minor oversight. Only a couple of billion people lived there anyway... Would be great for preliminary student research and definitions.

This looks like an absolute treasure of a find, however the list does not lead to actual image, only descriptions of artefacts. They say they're still adding to it, perhaps that's why the images aren't up? I guess the pace of change is slower for classicists. Anyway, if they ever add those images this site will be an Ancient History teacher's dream. Fingers crossed.

What an excellent resource! It has a funky interactive map with little information windows that pop up as you mouse over them, and then if you click it gives you more detailed information. Definitely useful for student research or a classroom activity. The maps are quite beautiful.
