How this influenced my thinking: Speaker, Eugster's advice flys in the face of socially acceptable behaviors, such as retirement. His life examples are provoking. Date published: 1994 Why Relevant and Summary: This site gives a breakdown of the stages in reflective thinking. Along with the breakdown it gave clear examples of how someone in each of the different stages would react which helped me relate the stages to situations. This gave me a better understanding of each of the stages. It was helpful in writing my paper. How This Influenced My Thinking: The examples that are given are short statements that provide excellent examples of what they described in each stage explanation. Credibility of Source: seems reliable-but no proof that it is legitimate

Morris Date Published: 2008 Why Relevant and Summary: Does a nice job in explaining autism, Asperger's, and related disorders. It identifies means for classification and diagnosis, associated characteristics and tendencies; what to expect from someone with one of these diseases. How This Influenced My Thinking: Educated me about autism, Asperger's, and related disorders... helped me to see from another perspective life with this kind of disorder. Credibility of Source: Pretty credible and valuable.

Why Relevant and Summary: An extensive and thorough explanation of what ADHD is, what the symptoms are, the different variations of it, solutions with which to combat it, medications to take, parenting tips, ADHD through the ages, coexisting conditions, etc. Very useful. How This Influenced My Thinking: It enhanced my knowledge and perception of ADHD and those who have ADHD... allowed me to relate it to my experience of having a sister with ADHD. Why Relevant and Summary: Provides different tips and methods with which to discipline a toddler...how to stay in control and keep your sanity when parenting a toddler. Identifies what to expect and how to react. How This Influenced My Thinking: Gave me some tips that are practicable and will be useable if I were to have children, or when interacting with children of that age. How This Influenced My Thinking: It helped me begin to plan and change my styles of life in order to age successfully. Credibility of Source: Very credible

Title:Selective optimization with compensation Author: many Date published:1999 Why relevant and summary: This site is a wikipedia psychology site that provides the reader with an explanation of what SOC is. It also gives a great example of a 75 year man who tries to maximize his cognitive resources. Further more, it breaks down the word 'selective optimization with compensation' and tells you what each word implies on its own, and how all the words as a whole make up the meaning of the theory. How this influenced my thinking: This influenced my thinking by providing me with a great example of SOC in a way that really helped my understanding of it. The idea of SOC makes perfect sense and i can see why psychologists use it when they are talking about successful aging. Credibility of source: I feel like the site was pretty credible. There were references but it was a wiki page

Title: Teen Pregnancy Statistics Author: No Author Date Published: 2013 Why relevant and summary: These statistics are very astonishing. It gives statistics of teenage pregnancies, sexual intercourse, marriage. How it affected my thinking: These statistics blew me away. I honestly though there were not that many teenagers having sex at an early age, I thought many teenagers had their first intercourse when they were at least 17 years old, but according to the statistics there are teenagers whom are having intercourse at the young age of 12 and 3. Credibility: seems credible since its from a teen website.

It tells some of the struggles of associated with careing for your parent who lives with you as well as gives some statictics about elderly living with their children How This Influenced My Thinking: I didn't realize how common it was for elderly parents to live with their children. I thought the trend would have decreased over the years but it has actually increased Credibility of Source: It is an article from MSNBC

The Japanese see the elderly and ancestors as being wise. The elderly hold knowledge that is valuable for future generations. How this influenced my thinking:It's amazing to see how much the Japanese respect their elders and ancestors. They hold great knowledge which is necessary to pass on to the next generations. Credibility of source:It is from an education site.

Women 50 and over should maintain stroing bones, a healthy heart, and seek preventative exams. How this influenced my thinking:It's important to have a proper inkate of calcium and vitamin D, but also doing weight-bearing exercises for strong bones. Diabetes can be affected by age, race, gender and family history. How this influenced my thinking:In terms of age, race and gender, this hits home because this affects my dad. Now that there is a history of it, I need to work on preventing this from happening to me. Credibility of source:Credible, it's from the American diabetes association

Provides each cultures beliefs and history of beliefs regarding childbirth and customs for it. How This Influenced My Thinking: Informed me of other perceptions and views of childbirth--things I was unaware of; I was not familiar with any other views of childbirth but that of the U.S.'s. Credibility of Source: Unsure of credibility.

Also contrasts and explains dishabituation. How This Influenced My Thinking: It encouraged me to think of experiences in my own life where I've habituated to a certain stimulus and maybe why I habituated to it. Credibility of Source: Unsure of credibility; made several outside references and cited correctly.

Title: Cognitive Functioning in Early Adulthood Author: Bold, M Date published: 1999 Why relevant and summary: There is not alot about Perry's theory on this website but it gives a nice brief description of different theories, including Perry's. How it changed my thinking: Was interesting seeing them all outlined like that. Credibility of source: seems credible.

Title: Catholic Marriage Preparations Author: NA Date Published: NA Why Relevant and Summary: This website is very helpful if one is planning to get married in the Catholic Church. Although it's only an outline of the marriage preparation classes, it definitely helps to give the key points of what is needed before getting married such as sacraments and also includes how Religion plays an important role within the marriage. How this influenced my Thinking: This website made me realize what a marriage consist of. For many people like me one usually thinks that married life is the best time of one's life and there is no problems that come with it, but reality is that a lot of work has to be put towards the marriage from both parts in order to have a successful marriage. This article definitely made it clear that a marriage has a lot of components. Credibility: Seems credible since it's from a parish website
