This give my paper some depth and intertwined different view points. how this influenced me- i wasn't really influenced by this site because it didn't add anything that i hadn't heard before. It might influence a person more if they are not as familiar with religion, specifically Christianity, as i was. credibility-the site seems pretty credible. It is a .org website, and was written by someone with a PHD in his area of study.

It also goes through the different ages in children and how they might react to the divorce. Overall, this article is great for helping one cope with a divorce as well as ways to help your child cope with a divorce without making much damage. How this influenced my thinking: My parent are still together, so I was never exposed to any divorce issues, but I do remember having friends whose parents were divorced so I knew it was a hard process especially for my friends. Because I don't talk to my high school friends anymore, I honestly wasn't sure what the negative outcomes were of a divorce, but after reading this site all of the pain and sorrow from my friends came back. Everything that was mentioned especially about teens reactions were the way that my friends reacted during their parent's divorce. Credibility: This site seems to be credible.

How This Influenced My Thinking: There were some great tips on parenting after the divorce and some great example on how to help your child cope with the situation. I thought it did a great job of explaining how the child may feel and how to address those feelings. Credibility of Source: Author has their PhD and the website is a credible website

It goes over the impact that each parenting style could or would be more likely to have on a child and explains the many factors that impact why there are different styles and why parents don't just all raise their children the same . (ie personality, family size, parental background, socioeconomic status, educational level and religion.) How This Influenced My Thinking: This gave a clear, straightforward description of the four distinct parenting styles. It has made me think that when I am raising a child that I need to make sure that I remain an authoritative and not cross the line to authoritarian or even the permissive parent. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm not perfect and this has made me realize how extremely important it is to be aware of how I respond or control situations while helping my child develop in a healthy manner.     Title: Kohlberg Author: Saul McLeod Date Published: 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: This article found on simplypsychology.org gives a descriptive over view of each of the 6 moral stages theory by Lawrence Kohlberg. It also discusses the criticism of his theory by Gilligan. Gilligan claimed that women and men were determined using the same standard because original studies were solely based on men. Gilligan says women approach situations from an "ethics of care" rather than from and "ethics of justice" ..changing the stage that women and men most often ended up in. How This Influenced My Thinking: It gave me a better understanding of the way that Kohlberg approached this study and how Gilligan opposed the findings.
