It gives examples of methods use to deliver a baby. How This Influenced My Thinking: Although i was aware of this form of childbirth method, I was not aware of the terminology that doctors use, and how complex childbirth actually is. It has open my eyes to the variety of methods. Credibility of Source: This source was somewhat credible. This website is useful if wanting to get an overview of the topic or if one is new to topic. This source is a good way to begin with research, however more extensive research should be done.

Title: Prenatal Massage - Many Benefits for Mom and Baby Author: Caroline Vigery, CMT Date Published: September 12, 2011 Why Relevant and Summary: This article explains the many benefits for both mother and baby from receiving Prenatal Massage. For mom it includes relaxation and stress reduction, reduction of pain and strains, improvement of blood circulation, preparation for labor, and improvement of respiratory and GI functions. Baby also receives improved blood circulation, healthy tissue, flexible joints and muscles during the pregnancy and labor. How This Influenced My Thinking: Prior to finding this article, I did not know that this was something that mothers did to improve health during pregnancy. I think that it is a great idea and I plan to receive massages too if and when I am pregnant. Credibility of Source: Pretty credible, it is a yoga business so they are more likely to point out the positive effects to make more business, but the article seems thorough and well written.

It also discusses a wide range of what to keep in mind when it comes to a child's temperament. How this influenced my thinking: This changed the way I think because it goes in detail how truly prepared a parent has to be. Credibility of source: it seems reliable it has refrences and cites everything.

Date Published:Jan 6, 2012 Why Relevant and Summary: It gives a nice overview of what exactly ADHD (and also ADD) is, what symptoms there are and how to work with it. it also gives interesting facts about how long it may have been around, and how many people are diagnosed with it. How this Influenced my Thinking; This just gave me a few extra bits of information about ADHD and its history, i am already familiar with it, as i have a younger brother who was diagnosed with it. Credibility of Source: The authors have degrees, and it is on a credible website about many varying aspects of psychology.

Grohol Date Published: 2012 Why Relevant and Summary: This article describes the different symptoms of ADHD, and the different subtypes of ADHD. How it Influenced my Thinking: I was really surprised by the number of children in america that have ADHD. It says on average one student in each classroom will have it. Credibility of Source: Seems like a very credible source.

How This Influenced My Thinking: The up-to-date research regarding the history, treatments, and causes of ADHD of this site have been illuminating and helpful. Title: Parenting Styles and Adolescence Author: Kimberly Kopko Date Published: 2007 Why relevant and summary: This is an excellent overview of Diana Baumrind's parenting styles through Cornell University Department of Policy Analysis and Management. This research provides an overview of the parenting styles presented by Diana Baumrind, and their impact on adolescent development. How this influenced my thinking: These parenting concepts really interest me and inspired me to reflect on the several parenting styles I encountered as a child moving through a variety of foster homes. It also gave me quite a lot to think about in regards to how I parent my own children. Often I question whether or not a child having grown up in such an unstable environment as I did, is able to be a healthy and 'good' parent. However, after reading through these parenting styles, I have realized that my parenting style is natural, healthy and has a good balance of warmth and discipline. Focusing on weight creates weight prejudice. this is relevant because people who are obese are more likely to be bullied about their weight (even if they are living healthy). How this Changed my Thinking: There are different ways to view fighting obesity, and focusing on lifestyle is healthier for self-esteem. How This Influenced My Thinking:gives great insight as to how each important nutrient effects a baby's brain development. Credibility of Source: high, author is a registered dietitian as well as journalist.

Why relevant and summary: This article discusses the importance of friendship during early childhood and middlechildhood. It discusses some of the factors that allows a child to keep a friend and the possible outcomes when a child is rejected. This article also discussed that it is imperative that a parent understand when a child is lonely or just simply wants to be alone. How this influenced my thinking: I found it interesting that like adults children need their alone time. Discusses thought processes such as 'inferential reasoning', 'third eye problem', and the pendulum task to explain in detail what the Formal Operational Stage requires. How this influenced my thinking: Gave me lots of ideas of ways to test for the Formal Operational Stage and to discuss it effectively in my paper. How This Influenced My Thinking: i knew sex was always an awkward topic, but when i was young my dad explained to me what it was, and discussed puberty with me and it was normal and not odd. as i grew into adolescence it became wierd to talk to my parents. this just showed me that parents can find it difficult to the point where they ignore the issue and dont bother discussing it. Kant believed that moral reasoning is not based on the idea that humans are a means to an end, but that were an end in ourselves. How This Influenced My Thinking: I have studied Kant in Philosophy classes in the past, and enjoyed having the chance here to cross previous learning into what I am learning now. Although it's only an outline of the marriage preparation classes, it definitely helps to give the key points of what is needed before getting married such as sacraments and also includes how Religion plays an important role within the marriage. How this influenced my Thinking: This website made me realize what a marriage consist of. For many people like me one usually thinks that married life is the best time of one's life and there is no problems that come with it, but reality is that a lot of work has to be put towards the marriage from both parts in order to have a successful marriage.
