Son of veteran actor-comedian Jagdeep, actor Javed Jaffrey claims that he never used his father’s name to get work in the film industry. The multi-talented chap is known for his roles in films like 100 Days, Fire, Earth, Salaam Namaste, Singh is Kingg and 3 Idiots and others."Being the son or daughter of a legendary film personality you get more respect. But I have never used that as an influence to enter industry. It is not that I got work because of him. My father did not do a film for me or launched me, he wanted us to do things on our own," Javed said."Rather I never thought I will enter the film industry, it happened all by chance. Destiny played a part and brought me here in this industry," he said. Jaffrey is known for his versatility, as he has done positive, negative as well as comic roles. "I like to play all kind of roles. You can't do same stuff every time as it becomes boring. Comedy is my soft spot. But I love doing action, thriller, drama and negative. I am not comfortable with sexuality, intimate scenes," he said.Next, he will appear in debutante director Faraz Haider's War Chhod Na Yaar. "I am playing captain Qureshi from the Punjab region of Pakistan. So my tone in the film is Punjabi-Urdu. The film establishes relationship in an interesting way. I had great fun doing this film," he said.The film also stars Sharman Joshi and Soha Ali Khan!

After winning million fans as the protagonist, Maanvi, in Star Plus’ hit show Ek Hazaaro Mein Meri Behena Hai, the pretty and vivacious Niaa Sharma went missing from the screen.And now, she is coming back with a new show. She will anchor the finale episode of MTV Webbed, being produced by Lost Boy Productions and Balaji Telefilms. It is based on cyber crime and the final episode will air on 15 December 2013. Actors like Veebha Anand, Vrinda Dawda and Chestha Bhagat will be seen in the finale episode.Confirming the report, Niaa said, “Yes, I have already shot for the final episode and it was super fun shooting after a while now. I got opportunity to showcase my hosting skills after a long time. I did anchor a bit during my school days. In daily soaps, you have to enact a character but here I have to be myself. I always wanted to be a part of a youth show and I am happy to host MTV Webbed.”Talking about anchoring whether she would like to do more in the same field or concentrate more on acting, Niaa said, “Yes, I would love to. But according to me, hosting business is male dominated in Indian television. The way men can mimic or crack any kind of joke, it connects with viewers. It doesn’t mean female can’t do it but daily soaps are female oriented and anchoring is male dominated.”Indeed, good news for her fans!

Upcoming film Khoobsurat will be a family entertainment that has Sonam Kapoor as its leading lady, Anil Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor as its producers. It would be produced by The Walt Disney Studios and proud father Anil said it is going to be a happy venture.“My daughters have grown up watching Disney movies, so it's exciting to see this collaboration. We have worked hard on the script and are sure the film will have universal appeal,” said Anil Kapoor, who is currently enthralling TV audience with his debut show 24 on Colors channel.Talking about the upcoming family production film, Khoobsurat has just gone on floors in Bikaner, Rajasthan. It revolves around Mili (Sonam), a vivacious girl who turns the lives of a royal family upside down. For the film, Sonam, who is known for his fashion has gone to adopt a de-glam look. About the film she said, “When you look at Walt Disney's life, his whole purpose was to entertain people and make them happy. And, in this film, Mili makes things happy and Khoobsurat.”Disney UTV’s Managing Director Siddharth Roy Kapur, further added, “The script is endearing and entertaining... it will be a fun experience for the whole family.”Khoobsurat will also see Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah and Aamir Raza Hussain and being directed and  written by ad-filmmaker Shashank Ghosh. It is scheduled to hit theatres in mid-2014.

Numero uno actress Deepika Padukone was lauded in a huge manner for her dance performance in Nagada Sang Dhol from Ram-Leela. However, if given the chance to performance again on the song, she feels it would be almost impossible for her to do it without film’s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.In fact, the actress feels that the song’s popularity was the least expected of the lot. "There were other songs in the album which we thought would become popular, this was the underdog. In fact, I am doing a show where I am expected to recreate that magic but I don't think I'll be able to do that if I don't have Sanjay to direct," said Deepika.For those unaware, Deepika will be performing at the Temptation Reloaded show in Dubai on Sunday with stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. Many must have heard that for his upcoming Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider, actor Shahid Kapoor has agreed to go bald for the film. So talking about it recently actor Shahid said that his decision to do the same was driven by the fact that the look is necessary for his role in the movie.For those unaware, Haider is the adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. "I thought it is justified. When I read the script, I found it very interesting and I have tried to do something shocking whenever I have worked with Vishal. Meanwhile, at the same time, Shahid confessed that his best performance was in Vishal’s Kaminey, which came out in 2009.  "He is a phenomenal director. He has given me Kaminey. It has been the most appreciated role of my life till now. It's great working with him again. Producer Viki Rajani, director Prabhu Dheva and the lead pair- Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor - who looked all excited to present the fun-filled comic of their upcoming film, were present at the event.The storyline of the comic has been shortlisted from the entries sent by enthusiastic fans across the nation. The winners not only got the once-in-a-lifetime chance to feature in the comics, but were also invited and introduced at the launch.Talking about R...Rajkumar’s custom comic, producer Viki Rajani said "Movie marketing continues to become more innovative and with this film, we have attempted initiatives to reach across all mediums. I'm happy to have the first ever custom comic book for R...Rajkumar which involved direct participation by fans and showed their keen response and enthusiasm".Shahid and Sonakshi, ecstatic with the response the songs of the film have been receiving, said that they were eagerly looking forward to the release of the film. Finally after a lot dilly dallying for almost a year to hold a concert in Dubai, the busiest star of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan has announced his World Tour premiering. Access to All-SRK Live in Concert has been kick started from December 1 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.SRK along with Madhuri Dixit, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Meiyang Chang, Neeti Mohan and Deepika Padukone have started to enthrall global audience. Before the event Shah Rukh Khan said, “I have wanted to do a big, all-encompassing live show for a long time. But according to Shilpa Shetty, who will again judge couple dance reality show, the new season is about romance and passion and has no vulgar content. The show will launch on November 9 and will air every Saturdays and Sundays. The actress said, “You are misunderstanding the whole concept. When we talk about passion, it does not mean vulgar. Passion is a part of every marriage, every relationship and romance. If you remove romance, there is no fun.”The 38-year-old was speaking on Friday at the launch of the show's new season, where she was accompanied by her co-judges director Sajid Khan and choreographer Terence Lewis.Sajid Khan said, Nach Baliye 6 promises dance infused with a lot of romance and passion. “There will be romance through dance, they will be marked on the basis of their dance, the audiences will vote looking at their dance. It's not Valentine's Day special. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-leela has kept the audience waiting eagerly for the movie ever since the release of its official trailer. Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun is one such song that has stirred the audience with the on-screen chemistry between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.Penned by Siddharth-Garima, the music is by the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The song has Deepika and Ranveer dancing in sync with each other and showing a naughty romance through their moves. Both the lead actors reportedly underwent strenuous rehearsals for the filming of the song. In-spite of the extensive practice session neither of the actors complained. In fact Ranveer was heard saying that he had a lot of fun while shooting for the song. Vishnu Dheva, who has choreographed the crazy steps for the foot-tapping song said “they’ve done their best”. Gori Tere Pyaar Mein actor Imran Khan says he has had the best time working in the movie, and it was one of the most entertaining work experiences that he has had till date. "For me this is the most fun film. What makes it special is the chemistry and interaction between me and Kareena Kapoor Khan. That is what makes the film stand up," said Imran."Kareena and I have good chemistry. I think we look good together. Part of the reason is because inherently we understand each other as actors," said Imran, who was in London with his leading lady Kareena. The film has been helmed by Punit Malhotra, and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions.The actor said that the film has the target audience in younger couples and the family audience. "Karan likes his films to reach out across the audiences and he likes to make his films family friendly. You can watch it with your parents and parents can take their kids to watch it," he said.He also added that it was picturised in many locations. "The first half is primarily shot in Bangalore where the romance begins. The second half was shot outside Bhuj in Gujarat, then Wai outside Pune in Maharashtra and then in Filmcity. It was a difficult film to shoot. We were shooting outdoors in the peak of summer in May and June - it was over 45 degrees every single day."The film comes out on November 22!
