Buzz has it that the film has landed into trouble with a women's group in Uttar Pradesh's Bundelkhand region. This group works under the name Gulabi Gang headed by Sampat Pal and this group as heard, voices against domestic abuse. Sampat has alleged that the film is completely based on her life and her group's work. She even stated stories relating to the film's plot.
