BlackBerry phones could get rhythm-to-unlock, like dun-da-da-dun-dun -- Engadget - 0 views

  •
This article is about how blackberry phones could have a rhythmic touch to unlock them rather than a code or face unlock. I think this is really awesome because a lot of people are blackberry users and it would be fun to have. I have a blackberry so this would want me to have a touch blackberry just so I can have an unlock like they created. This tap unlock detects the location and magnitude of your touch. This relates to the course because the blackberry is the hardware and the actual program to detect the touch is the software. You need to program the actual app for the blackberry devices.

It's Time To Believe In RIM And The BlackBerry Again | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
This article is about Blackberry companies earnings this year.Apparently the company is not doing well at all this year. The revenue dropped to 4.2 billion, down 19% from the third quarter. The RIM is the enemy of every upstart smartphone, that includes the Blackberry. Today, a blackberry looks and feels and works almost the same the ones they made 5 years ago. Also the creation of the PlayBook was a failure, because of it's features and late arrival. Blackberry may loose it's business.

RIM Announces New OS for BlackBerry Smartphones and Tablets - 1 views

  •
The new and improved OS for Blackberry, and its name? Blackberry BBX. BBX will be installed in Blackberry phones and tablets, with the possibility of systems in cars, next year. Apparently, it couples both "the best of QNX," which was the OS they bought out last year, and the current OS. BBX will have the capability to support all WebWorks and HTML5 apps that are currently being designed, with software for the Blackberry Playbook. Hopefully, this OS will be better than the current one, and on a side note, we can all pray that a certain company won't crash again for three days *ahem RIM cough cough*.

sir is not gonna like this. Blackberry users are more important than iPhone or Android users. Klout, a social influence-ranking service showed that blackberry users are more INFLUENTIAL than Android or iPhone users. the average blackberry user it tracks scored a 43.6. iPhone user was 42 and Android was 40.6. The average score on Klout is 20. JUSTIN BIEBER SCORES A 100......wtf. Why would bb users win? Many say that bb are more older and more professional user group than the other phones. TAKE YOU KLOUT SCORE TODAY

RIM Offers Users Free Apps After BlackBerry Service Outage - 0 views

  •
Blackberry users are mad. And why shouldn't they be? RIM went down. RIM is what MAKES Blackberrys. The outage that lasted more than three days has now been resolved, and to make amends for it, RIM does not only apologize, but also offers 12 free apps. Woo hoo. But, there is also a month of free technical support. So, there is something to gain. Millions of customers worldwide were left without access to various apps, email, etc. Is this a big enough apology?
  •
After a BlackBerry service outage that lasted more than three days, RIM is trying to make fix their mistakes  by offering them a selection of premium apps for free, as well as one month of free technical support. The RIM service outage was the biggest one they have ever had, and alot of customers are starting to switch, but RIM ensures this will never happen again... yeah right...
  •
All Blackberry users including myself were all ticked off after the 3 day service outage. As an apology, RIM (company that makes Blackberrys) decided to offer 12 free apps for Blackberry users. (Bejeweled, Texas Hold'em Poker 2, Bubble Bash and Shazam Encore) On top of that RIM has given us one month of technical support. I admit that RIM is trying hard to get back on track but sadly this isn't going to keep customers from switching phones. :$

BlackBerry Porsche P'9981 Unveiled In Dubai | TechCrunch - 1 views

  •
Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce you to the BlackBerry Porsche P'9981 - the ugliest BlackBerry I've seen in years. Unveiled at RIM and Porsche Design's Dubai event, the new BlackBerry Porsche is clad in equal parts stainless steel and leather. While the device's shell has gotten quite the facelift, the internals aren't a far cry from the standard: it sports a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video, and an NFC chip.

BlackBerry phones could get rhythm-to-unlock, like dun-da-da-dun-dun -- Engadget - 0 views

  •
Blackberry phones are in the process of getting a rhythm to unlock your phone with. This type of technology would be useful to those who try to unlock their phones, but many people try to watch what password you put in so they can do it as well if they ever take your phone. However, with this rhythm that may come up it will be harder for those to try to pick up on what you are putting on your phone and it will be much more difficult to imitate it. Also, blackberry will be able to sense the touch so you do not have to make it obvious. I think this is more convenient because people won't guess your password as easily if it is a rhythm.

BLackberry ceo appoligy video - 0 views

Following a statement from the company earlier today to confirm that it is working to restore BlackBerry services around the world, RIM's co-CEO Mike Lazaridis has release a video in which he apologizes to BlackBerry users for over three days of downtime affecting BlackBerry Messenger, email, and internet access.

This article is about the much anticipated (LOL) release of the blackberry 10. Due to news of it's release, stock prices have been high, but, when the blackberry was released, RIM saw their stocks drop. The article explains that this release is Blackberry's attempt to get back into the smartphone market -which is currently being dominated by Iphone and Android devices. The new blackberry features a new operating system that predicts what word you want, you can swipe to have it auto-completed.. sound familiar?....It also operates as both a business and personal phone. I think Blackberry's stock will continue to drop because of the increasing demand for iPhone and Android devices. Apple has been around for a long time and has developed consumer loyalty. Consumers trust the iPhone and will continue to purchase their phones, whereas Blackberry's consumer loyalty has been waning. Smartphones continue to make our lives easier, and are constantly changing. Blackberry's new phone may change the phone market.

Blackberry service not working for over 2 days - 0 views

  •
BlackBerry users in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, and other parts of the world have been stuck without BlackBerry Messenger and internet access for over two days now. RIM did promise customers in a message via Twitter that the service had been restored yesterday, however, that doesn't seem to be the case.

BlackBerry Messenger for Android Shows Off Threaded Messages and More | TechnoBuffalo - 0 views

  •
till not convinced that BlackBerry Messenger for Android is real and possibly showing up next week at BlackBerry DevCon? Let us whet your appetite with a few more images.
  •
Last week a source at Research In Motion (RIM) reached out to us with some images of what they claimed to be BBM for Android.  Said source read the comments on that post and decided to come back with a few more images to explain some of what you were seeing.  These new pictures show off threaded messaging as well as the ability to customize your fonts.  According to what the anonymous source tells us, you'll also be able to change the size as you want for easy reading. All of the accounts shown in the images are test accounts, so don't be thrown by that part.

My Blackberry Is Not Working! [VIDEO] - 0 views

RIM could not pick a worst time for their servers to crash, as it was the release of the new iPhone 4S. Many blackberry users instantly switched to the 4S because they know that it will be a very reliable phone.

Will BBM for Android and iOS Signal a Massive Pivot for RIM? | TechnoBuffalo - 0 views

  •
We have already heard that bbm will be coming to android, but it wont be coming that cheap. the service will cost about 3.99 a month So here's the thing. Assuming the photos are real and the tips are true, why is RIM doing this? Why use DevCon Americas next week in San Francisco to announce to your community that BlackBerry Messenger is going cross-platform? BBM is arguably BlackBerry's most attractive selling point - I'd say the sheer addictiveness of their messaging-centric OS and awesome physical keyboards are right up there. If RIM opens BBM up to Android and iOS, the very platforms who've been kicking their butts over the past 24 months, will anyone still want to buy a piece of BlackBerry hardware?

Despite promises on Tuesday that services were restored and working normally, millions of users have continued to report issues with their devices.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 And Curve 9360 Earn The MasterCard PayPass Cert, First SIM-Based S... - 0 views

  •
New to the world of phones and transactions alike: the Blackberry Bold 9900 and Curve 9360 are the first SIM-based smartphones to earn the "MasterCard PayPass Certification." This means that MasterCard thinks the phones are advanced and secure enough to handle MasterCard's NFC-based Paypass system. Now that this has been decided, any MasterCard Paypass-issuing bank can give a PayPass account to the SIM card in these phones. As a Vice President of RIM puts it, this is a "significant step forward in the way we use mobile devices for payments." Indeed, VP, indeed. This quite the large leap for Blackberry, and Blackberry users alike, as it will affect the way we do our business and transactions, and therefore out everyday lives. Jealous, Apple & Co.?
  •
The latest in RIM's collection of Blackberry's have now been deemed secure enough to handle Mastercard's pay pass system which means that when one of these phones SIM cards is encrypted with a pay pass account it will allow the user to make payments from their Mastercard account through their smartphone

RIM and Porsche team up to create the new P'9981 Blackberry. It has a stainless steel frame, leather back cover, QWERTY keyboard, touch screen, and PINs that identify other P'9981 users. I would definitely buy this phone.

The First Interesting Looking BlackBerry Isn't Even Made by RIM [BlackBerry] - 0 views

  •
A new look for BlackBerry but without RIM? You could do the same amount of things that you can do with your BlackBerry now but its just without RIM. It also has a lot of different features too. With a stainless steel face, leather back, a feeling of tenuous superiority. It also has exclusive BBM pin. So in the end it seems okay with just some minor changes.

BlackBerry shutting down BBM music on June 2nd - 0 views

This article is about how Google has a new web engine for Chromium and Chrome. What they basically did was they "forked" with WebKit and Blink. WebKit is described as the glue that binds the modern web: the rendering engine powers Apple's Safari, Google's Chrome, and many mobile browsers both past and present. Google believes that Chromium's multi-process approach has added too much complexity for both the browser and Webkit itself, so it's creating a separate, simpler fork named Blink. Although the new engine will be very similar to WebKit at the start, it's expected to differ over time as Google strips out unnecessary code and tweaks the underlying platform. The company has also confirmed top us that both Chrome and Chrome OS will be using Blink in the future.

New blackberry? - 0 views

upposedly the codename "Knight" is also being thrown around, which would also fit in with the Porsche idea as their logo involves a knight chess piece, so the concept that this may be a limited edition phone is definitely picking up some steam. Any time you throw the Porsche name or logo on a product it can command a high price, so it's highly doubtful you will ever walk into your nearest carrier store and just find this sitting there as your possible next subsidized phone.
