Turns out storing private information with no encryption is a bad idea. In other news, researchers today have discovered that the sky is in fact, blue.

This article is about the new blackberry curve that is suppose to come out next month. the new curve is said to be 2.44-inch and has 3.2 mega pixel rear shooter. allegedly, the blackberry has a BBM button on its left spine. This blackberry is said to cost around $245. looking at the picture i think this new blackberry does not look much different from the other blackberry curves. i think RIM needs to make big improvements to Blackberry's 

For a service that had such an artificially high demand, the tech industry has not really capitalized on Video Chat. When Apple unveiled their video chat service 'FaceTime' in June of 2010, many thought that this would become the primary standardized service used by all. In practice, FaceTime is a clunky system that is evidently less productive and convenient than just vocal or text communication. So why hasn't video conferencing taken off as the industry had hoped? The answer is most likely because there is no standardized system and the market is too saturated; Polycom Inc. hopes to adress this issue by introducing a Universal Video Chat in early 2013. The product (called RealPresence CloudAxis) monetizes all of your contacts from Skype, Facebook, Google Talk and other apps into one place - all hosted on a web browser. This is a very ambitious task and if it delivers on what Polycom says (with the "same security and reliability as enterprise systems"), then there may be some validity to the video conference service. This relates to Privacy and Security because when monetizing a group of services, there is a chance for data leak and possible identity theft; Polycom promises to adress all security issues in order to make a safe and immersive experience for its users. This relates to eLifestyle because companies and their consumers have been trying for the past years to create a universal video chat service that actually worked in order to establish a multi-faceted social network: it might be too early to tell if Polycom has something that will fulfill the needs of consumers. Many of us remember the PSN outage of April 2011. Sony blamed 'Anonymous,' a collective hacktivist group formed in 2003 on 4chan, after they found the Anonymous calling card 'We Are Legion' in their system. Anonymous is composed of individuals with the ideals of: 1. Freedom of Information 2. Freedom of Speech 3. Unregulated Internet Anonymous will only attack databases and websites only if provoked, and will not do so for monetary gain. The group has recently engaged in multiple attacks on international government databases. The article, by Casey Chan, is about the Anonymous digital attack on Israel, in retaliation after the Israeli government threatened to shut down Internet access and other telecommunications to the Palestinian people in the Gaza and "Occupied Territories. " The group attacked the Israel Foreign Affairs database and Bank of Jerusalem database, as well as DDos attacks on over 600 sites and theft of over 2000 email addresses and passwords. This attack has generated some controversy. Since the beginning of November, Israel has also received over 150 missile attacks from the Palestinians as well. Anonymous aids the Palestinians by sharing a 'Care Package,' instructions on what to do in the event Israel does sever the Internet connection. Anonymous has become quite influential on the Internet. This illustrates how important the Internet has become. The internet is not only a commodity, but a right to have. It has replaced forms of communication, entertainment, transactions, and more. A group of 'anonymous' users has been formed for the sole purpose of protecting it, with the will and capabilities to punish any party that wishes to disrupt it. As with every conflict, there are sides. Anonymous, in protection of Internet freedoms; and the Israeli government, that has been fighting a war for as long as anyone can remember. The new generation of the ever so popular HTC One is coming. Photos, specs and release dates have been leaked. The M8, (Second HTC One) has been rumored of having a new screen, with on screen controls, more power, a new second camera for stabilization, and the ever so loved HTC One design, and speakers. Personally, i love the new on screen buttons as it gives you more screen space without increasing the size of the device, and allows the screen to be in the center when watching content in landscape.

Google has been keeping quiet about their latest tech, but a leak has hinted toward a google smart watch with certain features that will compel you to purchase the new wave of wearable tech. The google watch will allow you to get ambient notifications between your phone and watch through Blue tooth LE. This connectivity will allow you to awnser calls, and see who is texting you. The watch will take a "Pebble" like design, but it will have a less masculine plastic wristband instead. The watch though, will either be released with less features or fully released at a later date due to time constraints. In my opinion, wearable tech is interesting but I believe its still in a beta-phase due to the fact of limited battery life and actual applicable features in real life.

Through the innovation of technology, with faster CPUs, GPUs and RAM comes one problem. Heat. A lot of it. Due to this, water cooling came into play allowing heat to be pulled away from components faster and more efficiently than ever. This allowed enthusiasts to get the most out of their hardware through overclocking. Kingston decided to take it even one step further with their HyperX H2O RAM. This 2133Mhz DDR3 stick of RAM runs much cooler than it's air cooled competitors and is one of the first of its kind, allowing overclocks to get a greater performance boost that ever. And, it just looks plain awesome. Personally, no matter how much of a PC enthusiast I am i would not install this in my Personal Computer as this technology is not perfected yet. For a little more cost, not including a water cooling loop, you can get a stick of RAM with not only more memory, but with a greater base clock than even this hyperX H2O at it's finest can't overcome, without the hassle of leaks, and the extra cost of installation due to piping and radiators.

A new hardware leak is made official this week, the Chromebook 2. It runs a Chrome OS. This article says that it's exterior  includes stitched leather, and a full HD 1980x1080 screen. Some cool hardware jammed in there, is an Exnos 5 Octa processor which clocks in at 2.1 GHz. Also includes 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage available. It's expected to have eight hours of battery life. The chromebook will cost either $320 or $400. For a machine that is internet dependent, and is mainly used for web surfing and storing on the cloud, $400 might actually be too expensive. I don't need this right now, nor do I want to get one, but I think this is a step forward in the field of cloud computing by google. I think there are definitely some better options to pick from, some being microsoft's version of this. Microsoft office is more widely acclaimed, and has the popular vote over google docs. About the specs, it does its job for what it's worth.

By now, everyone who is the slightest bit technologically inclined - or just interested in the news - has heard of the 'questionable' activities of the NSA. The National Security Agency, for the uninitiated, is a United States government agency that deals with national security and recently became the object of scrutiny after leaked information showed the massive data collection effort of the agency. This included: recording phone calls, ingoing and outgoing call identities, computer browsing, emails, key-logging and much much more. Needless to say, this was perceived as a tad scandalous and independent panels were brought in to assess the agencies spying program. Recently, the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board concluded that the metadata collected by the NSA was obtained through illegal means. Before you cheer, however, this sort of conclusion has been reached before and has only resulted in a promise to limit spying. This is bad because its merely a promise; a promise from a government who lied repeatedly, committed perjury, knowingly covered its tracks, and chased a citizen away with the threat of life in prison. Unfortunately, many people have since stopped caring because its no longer new news, but we need to stand up for our right to privacy and demand legal action to prevent such breaches of trust in the future.

I can not count how many times already that I have had something spoiled for me, be it a television series I have yet to watch, a book I have yet to buy and read, a movie still left to watch, or even a new music video for a certain Korean boy band that I follow and cry over. And all of these disgusting spoilers, that ruin my entertainment, come from the single source that is the Internet. I can't even innocently scroll through my dashboard on Tumblr to update my blog anymore without discovering five plot twists in which I have not yet been pleasantly surprised in, a death scene I least expected before it was my time to watch it, and maybe even a leaked practice video to a supposedly secret EXO comeback. Not only does this infuriate me to no end, but it also fuels the fires of my happiness in that someone created the "Spoiler Shield" app - a way to specifically block all of the spoilers you will find while going through your social media sites. Just simply input the subject you would not like to previously see before you invest the time to actually watch it, and the app will block all spoilers relating to it in real time so that going on your social media daily will never be a problem again. At last, I have found an app that will keep my eyes innocent to .gifs from Game of Thrones Season 4 so that I can now watch the show without it being ruined. The idea that this app will prevent me from stumbling over random spoilers greatly pleases me.

Well it would seem that NTT DoCoMo, one of the largest wireless carriers in Japan, has let slip the Samsung Galaxy Nexus announcement just a couple hours early. According to a tweet, "the latest Android OS smartphone with Google and Samsung Electronics [will be] announced on October 19 in Hong Kong tomorrow. DoCoMo is almost equivalent to the fastest in the world, scheduled for release in November. More later." (Anyone who's fluent in Japanese, please feel free to add clarity that Google Translate can't.)

Although we'll have to wait a little while longer to get our hands on the alleged Samsung Nexus Prime, that hasn't stopped one YouTube user from showing us the not-so-mysterious device's boot animation running on a Droid Bionic. It isn't much, but for those patiently awaiting what Samsung has in store, every little bit of info is welcome. It's not like we don't know what the rumored Prime might look like, its rumored specs, and even what oft-leaked version of Android it'll come pre-loaded with. It can't be much longer until the Nexus Prime is officially announced, but until then, keep your eyes on TechnoBuffalo for all the latest.
