Pidgin is a open source messaging program that allows your to use many messenger services at once just with this one program. The program is free and all your have to do it download it. it supports 17 networks with favourites such as AOL MSN and many more.  Other chat clients such as skype and facebook can be used if you have the plugin.

Last week a source at Research In Motion (RIM) reached out to us with some images of what they claimed to be BBM for Android.  Said source read the comments on that post and decided to come back with a few more images to explain some of what you were seeing.  These new pictures show off threaded messaging as well as the ability to customize your fonts.  According to what the anonymous source tells us, you'll also be able to change the size as you want for easy reading. All of the accounts shown in the images are test accounts, so don't be thrown by that part.

Those up-sells are where carriers and Facebook make money. "The reason why they're not on [the Internet] is they don't know why they would want to get access to it," Zuckerberg said. "[We will show] people why it's rational and good for them to spend the limited money that they have on the Internet." We have already heard that bbm will be coming to android, but it wont be coming that cheap. the service will cost about 3.99 a month So here's the thing. Assuming the photos are real and the tips are true, why is RIM doing this? Why use DevCon Americas next week in San Francisco to announce to your community that BlackBerry Messenger is going cross-platform? BBM is arguably BlackBerry's most attractive selling point - I'd say the sheer addictiveness of their messaging-centric OS and awesome physical keyboards are right up there. If RIM opens BBM up to Android and iOS, the very platforms who've been kicking their butts over the past 24 months, will anyone still want to buy a piece of BlackBerry hardware?

BlackBerry users in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, and other parts of the world have been stuck without BlackBerry Messenger and internet access for over two days now. RIM did promise customers in a message via Twitter that the service had been restored yesterday, however, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Following a statement from the company earlier today to confirm that it is working to restore BlackBerry services around the world, RIM's co-CEO Mike Lazaridis has release a video in which he apologizes to BlackBerry users for over three days of downtime affecting BlackBerry Messenger, email, and internet access.

It's now been three days since RIM's BlackBerry services went down, leaving users all over the world stranded without BlackBerry Messenger, email, and internet access. Despite promises on Tuesday that services were restored and working normally, millions of users have continued to report issues with their devices.
