The website for my middle school's media center has a few excellent links. We have links to eLibrary access, World Book Online, The Library of Congress, Teaching Books for Students, EBSCOhost, ThomsonGale database, Tumblebooks, the Lexile Framework for Reading, the ERIC online library, and the Florida Information Resource Network.
This site has many resources and ideas on how to use technology in the classroom. It mentions things like Twitter and how to implement mobile devices. With this day and age, I think this might be useful! I particularly like the links to K-2 resources!
This website is a great internet safety resource for students, parents and educators. There are videos and lesson ideas available. There is also information about cyberbullying. This website is a great classroom tool because it offers engaging activities for students, including virtual games, to teach them about internet safety.
Power my Learning is a website dedicated to providing Teachers, Studenst and Parents with additional tech resources in all subjects and grade levels. You can watch videos, click on your grade level or subject area and find activities and games, and even read teacher blogs.
This site offers a wealth of information and many great resources for teachers interested in using digital media for storytelling and other activities. There are a number of very good, clear, screencast tutorials for teachers to use. Preview a few to see if you might be able to use them with your classes. I thought they were great for high school students, and they inspired me to think about creating my own screencasts for other tutorials! :-)
