In The National Geographic Kids Blog, a group of kids selected by the National Geographic staff share their thoughts and experiences. This is a great blog for kids to follow and be able to read about things that interest them and what other kids think. Teachers can use this as a resource to introduce kids to safe and educational places on the internet that are interesting to them as well. I found this in the "Online Safety" section of Kids.gov, accessed via the publisher companion site of our textbook.

The site provides a Dewey Decimal Search for kids where they are able to click on an area and the find links related to the particular subject they are looking for. This could be helpful for a Media teacher to incorporate into his/her class.

HOME KidsClick! is a web search site designed for kids by librarians - with kid-friendly results! This site is easy to use for kids and teachers. It has a wealth of information for nearly every subject in easy to understand concepts and terms.

Matho is a great website and also a phone app for both iphone and android for parent to have available for their children. Kids love to play online games and this type of website allows parents to provide their children with a fun interactive game while enhancing their math skills. Also the games are timed so this can further challenge kids to want to compete in trying to get the highest score in the shortest amount of time.

Great website for K-6 Educators for enrichment and supplemental materials for Science and Social Studies. Students can use the site to explore information that is formatted in a fun and easy-to-read way. Or, they can use the site to play games, take quizzes, look at photos and maps, look up crafts and recipes, enter contests, and more. Teachers can use the site to project on an interactive whiteboard for quizzes and whole-class games. I like the site because it is culturally-rich and informative, yet kid-friendly.

Great site with resources for teacher with lesson plans, helpful websites, and activities and worksheets. Also has pages for kids and teenagers with links to different subjects and sites pertaining to those subjects.

Provides a safe place for students to learn that is divided based on age group. It provides art, music, math, science lessons, and more. It also has an area for teachers to find lesson plans and for parents to learn how to help their children learn.

This interactive web site for students ranging from pre-K to eighth grade is published by Family Education Network. It offers skills practice in reading, math, and literacy. The web site even has books such as the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and more. You will surely find activities and games for your students to enjoy!

This section of Yahoo! Kids provides homework help, videos, resources, and a dictionary & thesaurus to help kids learn and locate information. The site is very child friendly.

ZisBoomBah helps educate kids and parents about food in an easy and fun way that all ages can understand. Featuring free food games, tools, recipes and information.

If anyone is looking for some kid-friendly advice for students who need answers to Gay and Lesbian issues, this Kids Click site gives a few great links.

Online education games site which could help kids keep school skills sharp during vacation. 

Ask Kids is a search engine designed exclusively for young people ages 6 to 12. It provides a safe and fun way for kids to research educational topics. While most search engine websites provide filters and safe mode searches, it is not guaranteed to be age appropriate. Ask Kids is an excellent web resource for educators and students.

this website was found through the US. Department of Education. It gives parent helpful practical examples of how they can use everyday task such as shopping at the grocery store to get kids motivated and practicing their math skills. These type of hands on practical approaches are always great to do with young kids because it's a way to capitalize on their free time and to have them practice what they are learning in school without feeling like they are in a classroom.
