I spent the day with Emily Vickery, the teacher/administrator at Montgomery Academy in AL, responsible for their PD. This is her wiki, where she shares with others at the school what they are doing. We talked about using RSS and diigo to give links. She is doing great work and will be presenting at NECC on July 2nd -- her students are going with her!

Google for Educators launches Geo Education today! Cool. It includes information on Google EArth, Maps, Sky, and Sketcup and lesson plans from teachers. It also includes tips on getting started with these tools in your classroom. As you plan your summer PD, Geography teachers simply must get this on their list for fall!

Here is a beautiful webquest which uses links to many Educational Technology leaders and also some fascinating videos. I love this because it is a great activity to share with beginners, but also because of the super-cool layout and integration of a variety of media. I want to find out how they did this? Quick and easy image based surveys and feedback. Survey takers have 5 seconds to view the image, then answer questions based on that image. Might be really useful during a PD session or in the classroom as a quick way to gather student's prior knowledge about a topic.

An inspiring homegrown message of how one teacher can inspire passion, joy, and love of learning in students. Would be great as an opener for e keynote, or possibly in use for PD workshops.
