Dead drops.com has a list of dead drops around the world. Some of my students brought this in as a maker project that they want to do in Friday's #geniushour . Honestly, I'd never heard of this and I'm not sure what I think about this. It could easily be used for great things - sharing photos or making a time capsule of sorts, but it could also be use to pirate files. It is interesting what happens when students bring in ideas.

We need to remember that the 'personal' is about emancipation, not about being alone. Learners need to remember that the connections are still needed, they just need to go out and make them, they will not be provided. The side effect to the power granted, is that simply 'doing the work' (read: posting my response to my blog) is not the end of the work. The work needs to be connected to others, learning is still about people.

This is a great read -- I particularly think that Constant Partial Attention (CPA) is something that we should be aware of in our classrooms. Excellent article. Also I find it interesting how he shares that some kids who have gotten constant positive reinforcement in schools are going to have a tough time w/ competition. Competition is part of life.
