I am a Special Education teacher, I teach 3-6 year olds! I see that my students are able to use an ipad better than a computer. Due to some of the disabilities that they have. The only problem that I have is that we only have one ipad. It is hard because everyone wants to use it at the same time. This is the problem that I have, I wish I had more!! Like you said Maria, they learn quickly!! I use it to show them certain things and just by watching me they learned how to use it!! I am proud, but just upset because they only have one to use!!!!

Since starting the MTT program has your classroom become more tech savy? If it has, how?

Laura you are right! There is no extra time in the day for us to use technology. I think we do what we can in order to have our students use it. Sometimes it takes to long because some students do not know how to use a computer so you have to teach them as well as do the technology lesson that you have planned. That takes time and with everything else we have to do it gets hard to have a technology lesson. Maybe if it was a period on its own it would be better!!

Ester you are right! Teachers should integrate technology all the time in there class! I also agree with Delia teachers should have rotations so that all teachers can attend technology conferences. Sometimes its always the same teachers that attend. Now how do we expect all teachers to use technology on a daily basis if this is happening. Technology can be very useful to all teachers!

I liked the article, good information. I really do think that we need more technology in our district. I think that maybe we have the technology but some teachers are not aware of how to use it. Like Itza said we as teachers can not do much on the computers due to "must be an administrator". I think that does cause a big problem, we need something for the students and are not able to get it due to this!!

I recently received an Ipad for my students, they love it. I have downloaded applications for them that include reading. I use Star fall, ibooks, lakeshore learning. I have seen progress in my students they usually have a hard time using a mouse and a pc due to the fact the they are hard for them to manipulate. Since the students have had the ipad, I have seen them use the ipad properly and they have been able to manipulate it. The ibooks are really neat because the ones that I have brought for the students, they are able to click on the read to me button and it reads it to them. Sometimes I can hear them repeat a word or a sentence. I am very proud when I hear them. Needless to say I love the ipad for my students. I wish I could get some more ipads for them, since 10 students have to share 1 ipad!!!!

Generation? I think that I would consider myself in the igeneration! I know how to use technology to a certain extent. I love to use the ipad to get apps for my students. The students love to use it as well as myself. I think that most of us in the MTT program would be consider the igeneration. The igeneration would be everyone who stays up to date with the new technologies come out. That is my perspective.

Entering the MTT program has given me nothing but more stress in my life. I would never do this again. I have learned about some web 2.o tools through out these past two semesters. I don't think I would have ever learned about them if I was not in the program. I remember when technology was not a big deal. Technology is every where.

Thanks Shannon for posting this website. The firs video about the wii remote is awesome!! I think I am going to have to try it, my classroom does not have a interactive white board! I really want one my students would be amazed with it! I need to get the guys website so I can download the software. The video that I watched was about a no more creativity in school!! I think that this is true. He said that now a days students are taught that they can not make mistakes. If you think about it, it is true. Most of our students are taught to make everything look and be perfect. We do not let students be creative anymore. Watch the video and you'll see what he's talking about. Thanks again Shannon!!
