The Microsoft Movie maker site uses cogitative activity to teach learners how to create multimedia presentations. This site supports the learning needs by using audio and imagery when students create and share their movies. Mayer (2010) is a strong believer that verbal and visual representation is essential to process and organize data. In using Mayer's dual channel system the system uses the learner-centered approach since the design features are simple (2010).

Teacher-friendly tutorial that discusses wikis, the significance of the its usage in the classroom environment as well as gives specific instructions on how to create a wiki within Wikispaces.

This site is geared to creating traditional posters in a modern way. I enjoy this site because it takes away the frustration of scissors and glue while adding awesome dimensions of videos and sound effects. From the content differentiation standpoint, Glogster can be used as a unit review, as an interactive timeline, or multimedia notes. Glogster allows the user to embed text, images, voice, sounds, and videos and share the product with an embed code or hyperlink.

This website was chosen to show how to use technology to do brief classroom presentations. Part of the workshop will include an example of a blabberized topic and then teachers will navigate the site to see how simple it is. Showing an example and then allowing them to navigate the site to get a more personal experience promotes "active learning- because meaningful learning outcomes occur as a result of the learner's activity during learning."(p. 21)

This site is a tutorial to assist teachers as they venture into the world of wikis.

Primarily resources focused on rubrics: development of, use of, student perceptions of, etc. Developed by a university.

This website offers alternative authentic assessments as well as a toolbox for teachers. Even though this is my alma mater, The information presented here is proven to work for educators.

This website from the University of Wisconsin-Stout provides a repository of articles about assessment and how to create assessments and rubrics. Sample rubrics links are available.

Teachers will find that this site provides a variety of organizers which students can access on their computers. The information can be input and forwarded without the need of paper and pencil.

This is an awesome website with a great multimedia video that is itself conceived with Universal Design principles in mind as the narrator's comments are written at the bottom of the screen for people who might be hearing impaired. The video presentation is geared toward people like me who are passionate about creating accessible faculty websites. The coherent structure of the video promotes active engagement and requires focuses on cognitive activity. In addition, the careful selection of relevant information presented seems to take into account Mayers' limited capacity principle from the cognitive theory of multimedia learning(Mayer, 2009). To me, this workshop is undoubtedly a learner-center approach to learning.
