    Quiz Maker
    http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/signup/education/

This site allows you to make quizzes for educational and business purposes free of charge. You can make various kinds of quizzes such as multiple choice, true/false, etc. This site scores them for you and the quizzes are very easy to create. This is a simple activity that can be completed by students and participants in a workshop. To get more features it only cost approximately $3 a month. To use the simple version with limited features it is free.

    Webspiration
    http://www.mywebspiration.com/

Webspiration is a great way to display information or concepts for visual learners. The information can be displayed in words and graphics in a manner that allows for processing of the information based on prior knowledge or it can be given in such a way that new knowledge can be introduced in steps or a manageable format. This site allows users to map out their ideas, organize information as well as collaborate online using graphic organizers. I chose this site because it gives many examples of graphic organizers and various scenarios of when to use them in the classroom. It is also fairly easy to use, and it is free. It is a tool that can not only be used by educators as a teaching tool but it can be used by non educators for business, and personal use to organize and sort information in a meaningful format.

    Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/create-your-first-presentation-RZ010186615.aspx

This site is a course that teaches you how to use PowerPoint to create various projects. I especially liked it because it gives specific instructions and illustrations of how to navigate to create presentations. It also shows examples of projects that have been created and can be used as a model/guide.

    Windows Live Movie Maker
    http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker-stunning-in-seconds?os=other

This is a great site that gives details and clips on how to download and create movies using Movie Maker. The instructions are very detailed, yet simple to understand with screencast that displays the steps for creating movies and slideshows. There are several versions of Movie Maker to use with various operating systems. With Windows XP, you can get movie Maker as a free download. In Windows vista, it comes with the operating system. With Windows 7 it is a free download through Windows Live Essentials. I chose to use this program with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 to present my workshop because they seem to compliment it each other well. I can use the slides from PowerPoint that Movie Maker will transform into a movie with very few steps.
If you have images saved on your computer you can turn the pictures into a video. Movie Maker has a storyboard that makes it easy to turn photos into slideshows by importing your photographs and dropping them onto a storyboard that can be easily rearranged to suit your needs. It is also easy to add various effects to the slides. I especially like this program because it does many steps for you when you convert the slides to a movie by simply clicking a button.

    Freeplane
    http://freeplane.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I had some challenges downloading Freeplane on to the computer. However, I liked this site because there are several video tutorials that demonstrate how the different features work. It also lets you put your map in outline format, hidden edge style, and outline view just to name a few.
