Google DOCS is an online site that allows you to edit information online. Documents may include Word, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings and forms. Users have to have a Google Account to use this service. Google Docs allows users to work individually or collaboratively in a group. This is a good benefit to have in education with the use of cooperative learning and project based learning.

The presentation feature of google docs will allow for easy use for my audience. The tool is simple and doesn't come with the overwhelming features of MS Office PowerP Point. Teachers will use this tool to practice developing a short 3-slide story on the first 3 days of school. This tool is also beneficial because, teachers can again collaborate, and share their materials.

Forms can be created with Google docs and used to survey participants before and after the completion of their products

Youtube is a site that gives the user the opportunities to post videos about almost anything online. It is a video sharing website where users can upload and share videos. I chose this as a resource because it has a large resource of information that can be used for teaching purposes. Youtube makes posting and searching for videos simply because it is very easy to use.

What it is: YouTube provides millions of free videos on every topic imaginable. However, in addition to finding videos, YouTubes new video editor allows users to create their own videos as well. Why it's better: YouTube provides a user-friendly interface that most are familiar with. Videos, images, sounds, text, and photos can all be combined to create instant videos that provide prior knowledge to students. All videos under 15 minutes are free. Since YouTube is a part of Google, all items are synced with your Google account. While there are many other free video creation tools available, YouTube truly does provide an easier experience.

YouTube offers users the opportunity to compile their work in the form of a video. One feature of YouTube is the capability of adding closed caption. Videos can be used for essential and generative learning because it provides a platform for learners to authentically demonstrate their understanding of the content.

Webspiration allows the user to create various forms of mindmaps with unlimited design features. The website allows users to work individually or collaboratively online. It also gives you the opportunity to visualize your ideas creatively. All work can also be downloaded and printed if needed. I chose this site because it is very user friendly and can keep the learners interested with its hands-on capabilities.

This site allows you to create custom graphic organizers. There are many templates and lots of clip art to choose from. I like this site because you can upload your graphic organizer as a word document or save it to a web page that others can access.

* Webspiration allows a teacher to create a free Webspiration classroom. The site allows users to create collaborative mind maps that lend themselves to generative learning.

The Smart Technologies website provides an abundant amount of information about Smartboards but the writer paid close attention to the Education link. The site gave basic information about different Smartboard models and how they are used in classrooms. There were videos, links and graphics used to deliver information.

Big displays in workshops and other presentations is an essential feature. Whether it's an IWB or just a big projection screen, the ability to display enlarged content for all to see is invaluable. In this manner, IWBs enrich the experience with it's interactive capabilities and robust software (Notebook 10 for SmartBoards). A little known feature of Notebook 10 is an included LinQ application that allows for the networking of 5 additional laptops that can share their screens to the SmartBoard. Oh yes it doeoess. . .

My multimedia project title is is How to Utilize Multimedia to Create Effective Instructions. The Value of Multimedia in Learning written by Shank (2005) outlined the benefits of multimedia in learning. A well-designed multimedia presentation helps learners build more accurate and effective mental models than they do from text alone. Shephard synthesized studies showing potential benefits of well-designed multimedia, including: (Shephard, (n.d) as cited in Shank 2005, p.4). A well constructed multimedia presentation can definitively be identified as learner-centered approach to learning. Mayer (2008) also describes potential benefits of multimedia. Given that humans possess visual and auditory information processing capabilities, multimedia, he explains, takes advantage of both capabilities at once. In addition, these two channels process information quite differently, so the combination of multiple media is useful in calling on the capabilities of both systems. I like this website over other similar sites because you can add text, images, or graphics to expand on the information provided within the graphic organizer.

Why this one: This site has 36 different graphic organizers for which permission is granted for educators to reproduce and utilize. The variety of organizers covers a large realm of different possibilities for different project. Learning benefits: Teachers can use these for themselves as well as students and could generate a great deal of ideas on how to incorporate into a multimedia method. The conversion from paper to electronic would serve two purposes - generative learning of creating an electronic version and the graphic organization of the lesson.

I chose this site because of its wide variety of graphic organizer types and because it was part of a reputable organization, Houghton Mifflin publishers.

Scribbler is a great, user friendly multi-user whiteboard application where groups and individuals can meet together and not only create, but edit and converse about assignments and projects. This can be used for an entire session of a workshop to meet online rather than face to face, or through a website.

Google Docs is a wonderful platform for groups and individuals to interact and collaborate on an assignment. Private groups can edit and use this application to work on projects, spreadsheets, drawings saving information in one convenient location. In the past, I have used this while my group was on Skype, where we were able to compete an assignment within a few minutes.

The site offers teachers free organizers to help them brainstorm, organize, and visualize their instructional ideas. \nWhy this one: First, the user downloads the vocabulary organizer. Next, the user inputs the information onto the form and prints it out. In addition, the website has free teaching lesson plan notes accompanying each organizer. It is free and very easy to use. The graphic organizer is a great instructional tool for generative learning.

This is the site to download the free version of Jing. You can also purchase the professional version. This tool will be used to create how to videos and real time screen sharing. When learners see step by step processes in real time, it helps to reinforce the concepts and increases memory. These videos can also be shared via HTML and as downloads. Because the HTML codes are easy (cut and paste) and the loading of the presentation (click play), learners will not have to have high tech skills to access the videos and they have the oprion to save them and revisit them.

If one is intending participants to have something set-up before the presentation, record a Jing and save the file or easily share the file using sites like screencast.com. Jing allows audience members to be prepared for the speaker. You can also pause the recording while making it as well as mute. Screencast.com allows for quick sharing in multiple forms.

Learners can use jing to record their activities that demonstrate their learning within the Bb environment. It connects visuals with audio and can demonstrate, highlight, and segment items in accordance with best-practices in multimedia design. It's better than other products because it's easy to use and free!

Assignment # 3 Students can create their own comics by mixing and matching backgrounds, characters, props, adding text, and printing their creation. This is a good assessment tool to assess the learner's skills. For example: a marketing /advertisement project.

Skype allows video conferencing between participants and students sharing sample media projects. By initiating motivation for the workshop through synchronous communication with student experts, participants experience generative processing. This procedure will demonstrate the purpose of the workshop and increase motivation for participation. Skype is free, available on my school server, and easy to install and use.
