Participants are able to provide written, voice or video comments about the posted artifact. This is a collaborative, student-centered site that promotes cognitive processing of information. This artifact represents what Mayer (2009) calls dual coding, including both textual and visual components. The students have the opportunity to respond in a variety of ways to the instruction which promotes higher level thinking skills. I plan to create my own Voice Thread using our own student writing.

We can create multimedia albums in which can insert documents in PDF, Excel, PPT and MCS. VoiceThread is an excellent resource for presentations.

    VoiceThread is a tool for digital storytelling which uses photos and audio and text to share.  The site is centered around the technology, but its use is learner centered.

    Voicethread is excellent for generative learning. It presents information through the visual and auditory channels. Its unique ability to integrate voice comments and feedback inline during the presentation sets it apart from others as away to integrate the learning of many students. This ability to collaborate not only includes their website and an iOS application, but is also available through the phone. Each presentation can receive a phone number so students can leave comments in that way if their computer systems do not allow them to otherwise.

This particular online presentation program was much easier to use and access than many of the other programs that I viewed. This website supports essential and generative learning because participants are given the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to transfer knowledge gained.

The most notable function is the collaboration function that allows the sharing or co-creating of a mindmap. This organizer can be completed by the audience member pertaining to the presentation material in a manner that makes sense to them. Brief explanation of why you found this site to be better than others you found (e.g., more effective, creates better products, easier to use, and so on): I have used this with my students and received positive feedback. I have even used it for some Walden assignments and feel it is user friendly and designed to promote collaboration.

This site promotes generative learning because it helps participants organize ideas for future learning. I selected this site because it makes it easy for you to quickly start planning and sorting out their ideas through the use of linked text bubbles.

I like this site becasue the mind maps are very easy to create and they are simple in design. It is very simple to use and I have used it with my gifted second graders before and they picked up on it quickly. Although it is online, you can export your graphic, print it directly from the application, or save it for future use. As a Flash-based application, Bubbl.us is not necessarily the perfect solution for all computer users, especially Apple users. However, the application overall is quite strong and useful, either as a trainer resource for organizing content, or as a participant resource, used as a means for them to take notes or organize the information they are presented.

I have used this site for all of my concept maps at Walden. It is easy to create and export as a jpg to be uploaded onto a web page, blog or wiki.     Bubbl.us is a site that allows users to create webs, or mind maps. A hierarchy is created by color-coding the bubbles on each level. The site allows collaboration, as well. Sheets can be shared with other people, who then have the ability to either view or edit the mind map, depending on the permission granted by the creator. Once completed, the mind map can be printed or exported as an image or an outline. This site can help encourage generative learning by providing a medium for learners to visualize connections between key terms and concepts. It is more user friendly that other similar sites. The ease of color coding and outline creation make it better than other sites, as well.

This site is better than Inspiration because it allows for the online component the user can share the graphic organizer with others and allow them the ability to manipulate or change the organizer or just view depending on the needs of the user.

    Assignment, Module 3 - Yodio.com is a free, web-based recording service where users can record from any microphone or cell phone to create a visual and audio podcast experience.  Users can synchronize their voice commentaries with photos to create media presentations and responses.  They can be shared, streamed through the Internet, or embedded in other websites and blogs.  In essence, it is an audio postcard.  Another advantage the site offers for classroom presentations is it allows you to toggle back and forth to full-screen mode.  One interesting note:  the name, Yodio, is derived from YOur auDIO.

    The topic of my multimedia Artifacts project is How to Utilize Multimedia to Create Effective Instructions. Robertson, et.al (2010) article on cognitive tools-emerging perspectives on learning and teaching, was definitively learner-centered approach to learning. Various multimedia artifacts such as PowerPoint Presentations, Notebook Online discussions, Teleconferences, Video streaming and Podcasting (LearnOutLoud.com) allow students to retrieve and identify information through learning situations that required the seeking of information. Information was presented in a meaningful and appropriate representation that supported the participants by allowing them to use technology tools to establish relationships among information by structuring or restructuring information and manipulating the information (p.1). Mayer's (2008) dual coding /dual channels is where participate take in information as visual (through the eyes) and the verbal channel which deals with processing sound,( spoken text ).     I know we only needed two pre-training websites, but I just wanted to include this one so that I did not forget about it, as I find it to be a great resource. What it does: Generates a list of synonyms for a chosen word. Provides a "mind map" type of chart for the synonyms. Why this one: It is extremely simple and quick to use. Teaches are always short on time. This is a resource that requires no learning time. Results are immediate. Learning benefits: The mind map results chart is great for generative learning. It launches possibilities from which a learner can begin brainstorming.

Some individuals that may complete the workshop are still unsure on how to use a computer. The video provides visuals and screen shots for the viewer to see how easy tasks are on the computer. Mayer (2010) explains essential learning as of understanding due to not having a sound previous understanding of a concept. The website helps the user create a graphic organizer. There are step by step instructions to guide the user through. By completing the tutorial, the participant is being pre-taught and gaining the basic knowledge to help then continue through.

I love it because it has very bright graphics and is easy to navigate. This will be the introduction to the Solar System which will give the students information to use in their authentic assessment. They can view this via my laptop with the LCD Projector and a large screen. Although it will be a visual or graphic, it will also be part of the presentation. The graphic organizer will be the actual tabs that will show pictures of the different planets and then we will click on each planet to view more information which will be needed in the authentic assessment.
