This page mentions a promotion BMW is having where you submit your photos but then BMW is free to use the photos however they wish. It may be a good starting point to discuss the subject of copyright with your students.
Unfortunately, there is no iPhoto for Windows computers. However, there are some great free alternatives like Picasa, and the Windows Live Photo Gallery, that will make you forget about an iPhoto for Windows in no time.
I made this in about 5 minutes. Great web 2.0 answer to Photostory. Shows can be shared on social networking sites or embedded on web pages. You can even make the photo show a quiz.
Humanline's images are available to educators and students for free re-use provided that the attribution guidelines are followed. There are two licensing agreements that users need to be aware of when attributing the works they're re-using. Those licenses are rights-managed and royalty-free. You do need to register as an education user to access all of the images for free.
This is a fabulous site for creating free ebooks by uploading photos from your computer, or by using the well stocked gallery of props scenes and characters provided by the site. Just drag and drop your items into place. Books can be private or shared using a url link. A free signing is required. You can also have your ebooks made into real books for a fee.
