The book from which we read the discourse by Rousseau mentioned how his ideas had a substantial influence on psychological thought. This article from the Journal of Mental Health describes how his ideas about the natural man compare with Freud's and how both apply to whether or not state mental hospitals should exist. Very interesting.

Great presentation on how to make your mark in the digital world

Here is the comment I left on the SlideShare website: This is super important stuff, thank you for sharing. In our digital age, a person's ability to market themselves on the web is a form of social capital. The more people follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and the blogosphere, the greater influence we can have. It makes me think about what happens in the book, 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card. In the story, Peter and Valentine publish a lot of political commentary under aliases which eventually have a huge impact on world politics. Our future world may be run by those who can best market themselves and let their voice be heard.

An interesting post on a great blog. This post is about trying to charge for free internet space. 

53% of bloggers are ages 21-35, followed by about 20% of 20 or youngers and 20% of 36-50s. Only 7% of blggers are 51-up -- still that's higher than I had thought.

This is proof that you can find anything on the web. I hope you all enjoy. If you want to look deeper into any meaning that can be derived from this website, it would be that I found this website by doing the following: I looked on the digital literacy labs page, I clicked on the Create labs, I clicked the link to Slideshare.net, I looked at the top presentations which was done by a Heidi Miller, I followed Heidi Miller, looked at her profile, went to her blog, read some then scrolled down far enough and found this sweet gem of the internet.

This site is a diving board for people who are homeless to begin using social media. It advocates the use of social media to give these people a voice in a community that is more apt to ignore them. People don't often listen to people who "look" homeless, but because with social media they can blog/tweet/status update from their hearts and be judged only on the basis of what they say without being preempted by something else, people listen. 

Do you believe the new digital economy is leading to worldwide Communism?

This was probably a rhetorical question, but I don't. I believe that our economy will adjust accordingly. Just because the media industry is changing dramatically, doesn't mean people are giving away free food, free houses, free services. I feel this is just an adaptation, not a complete economical revolution.
