Attribute definitions alt = text [CS] For user agents that cannot display images, forms, or applets, this attribute specifies alternate text. The language of the alternate text is specified by the lang attribute. Several non-textual elements (IMG, AREA, APPLET, and INPUT) let authors specify alternate text to serve as content when the element cannot be rendered normally. Specifying alternate text assists users without graphic display terminals, users whose browsers don't support forms, visually impaired users, those who use speech synthesizers, those who have configured their graphical user agents not to display images, etc. The alt attribute must be specified for the IMG and AREA elements.

The project will create open content electronic textbooks that will be freely available from a website. Digibern has been online since 2002. So far, the most widely spread and used printed texts have been digitized. The documents are fully searchable for keywords. They can be traced via the index on the DigiBern web site. Moreover, they are indexed and web linked in the online library catalog IDS Basel/Bern. Digibern is freely available worldwide to scholars and the public. "

Vereinsziele und Entstehungsgründe Die Vereinsziele von freearchives.ch sind nichtkommerzieller Natur. Im wesentlichen geht es darum, dass wir Informationen langfristig speichern und erhalten möchten. Diese Informationen sollen nicht nur irgendwie im Zugriff sein, sondern möglichst bequem abrufbar sein. Langfristig heisst, dass die Informationen als Bilddatei gespeichert sind, bequem abrufbar bedeutet, dass es eine Möglichkeit geben soll, aus den Bilddaten durchsuchbare Daten aufzubereiten. Dazu bedarf es einer Texterkennung über die gescannten Seiten. Für einfachere Texte können wir wärmstens Tesseract empfehlen. Wenn es darum geht, durchsuchbare PDF-Dateien zu erstellen, so gibt es derzeit keine brauchbare OpenSource-Lösung. Der Verein freearchives.ch möchte dazu beitragen, dass dies so bald als möglich der Fall ist.

Die Piratenpartei ist DIE politische Kraft, die die Anliegen der Internetgeneration vertritt. Wir setzen uns ein - für die Einhaltung der Privatsphäre und einen konsequenten Datenschutz - für ein transparentes Staatswesen - gegen Zensur - für den Abbau von Infrastrukturmonopolen und Patenten - für Open Access - für die Befreiung unserer Kultur und ein zeitgemässes Urheberrecht - für einen zeitgemässen Umgang mit medialer Gewalt und Jugendschutz Seit dem 12. Juli halten wir Piraten auch Ausschau nach gleichgesinnten Partnerorganisationen- und vereinen. Damit wir den anderen Parteien um die Ohren segeln können sind wir auch auf Partner angewiesen.
