Is the 2nd Screen Really the 1st Screen for Millennials? - 0 views

  •
the millennials are changing the way people think about watching tv. the big screen is on but we are on another device. even without the big screen we are watching more and more television on mobile devices.
  •
I think the headline of this article is a good way to put it. Is it true? I would say probably so. The article avoids committing to too many opinions - which screen are people really paying attention to? Who knows? It's a legitimate question.
  •
This isn't really what the article was about, but I love branded content stuff like this when it's done thoughtfully: "A recent example is Chipotle, which recently launched an original Hulu series on factory farming to promote their brand beliefs."

Social Media: What Most Companies Don't Know - 0 views

  •
Not really an article but more of a slide show of stats but still very interesting. A lot of companies are not using social media because they are not really sure on how to use it. Slowly its growing in companies but as younger and younger people are getting into positions of power I think it will increase.

FarFaria Brings Hundreds Of Children's Books To Mobile Devices - 0 views

  •
This e-reading app, is now available for both iPhone and Android users. It is a very efficient way to get children to read, especially now that libraries are becoming an odd commodity. It is a paid app, with a wide road of expansion ahead, since user friendly learning/educational apps for children are few and far between.

Programmatic Is Eating the (Advertising) World | Re/code - 0 views

  •
Skip to the ninth paragraph and you'll still get the gist. This one's about programmatic advertising. Which is helpful because that's all mobile ads are.
  •
Ninth paragraph indeed: I actually clipped this quote before I noticed you had said that: "Actually, the opposite is true. Programmatic is expanding because it allows advertisers to pay more for ads, and to be happy about the fact that they're doing it. We are in the midst of a multiyear transition in which it feels like ads are cheaper, but ultimately the cost of advertising is going up."
  •
It increases efficiency and effectiveness. I can tell you feels really good when you get big result numbers back on a campaign.

Tinder App Update Helps You Find That Summer Fling - 0 views

  •
The whole internet dating thing seems weird to me, and the latest thing has been bringing it to mobile devices with apps like tinder. Regardless of opinions on online dating....this app is huge right now. Online dating is a huge trend and more and more people are finding partners through it. Maybe online apps is just the next evolution to that.

This article talks about social media and how they've started adding a geolocation feature. It presents some scary features due to that. The user is essentially alerting anyone who reads that tweet where they are, or if they're not at home making it easier for robberies or other crimes.

Sharing contact Info between mobile devices without an app - 0 views

  •
A great idea, but it seems so difficult to put into play - instead of just sharing one's contact information, one must dial a specific number and also already have the other person's phone number, to receive their additional contact info. While ideally this may be a great way to share information without having said information saved in a database, it seems waaay too difficult to use in actuality, when there are apps out there that do this quickly and efficiently.

Agreed - they identified a clear problem to solve but I'm not sure this is a solution that will take hold.

IBM Watson-Powered Mobile Apps Can Reinvigorate Brick-and-Mortar Retailers | Innovation... - 1 views

  •
I will just copy and paste their summary, because it is so much better than anything I could write. "By incorporating the cognitive computing capabilities into a mobile app that allow search results to respond to context, a range of new possibilities are opened. Natural language processing (searching by voice) and advanced data analysis can assess a customer's relationship with the brand and place personalized context around responses to questions they ask." This is an amazing idea, which will most assuredly bring with it success, as Watson has already been used by major companies in a variety of ways. By assessing the way consumers think, this application will be able to think ahead in terms of what the consumers will want to buy next - and how they will buy it (in store, or online).

Facebook Will Needs Permission From WhatsAppers To Use Data - 1 views

  •
This is a very big deal - most times when apps get bought out, their privacy policies are largely dismissed or completely changed. Due to the massive popularity and international use of WhatsApp, this is not a possibility. So the question is, if there will be no ads or information selling, how will Facebook make a profit with this aquisition? How can we as interactives sell this product?

  •
Yeah, Facebook is notoriously uninterested in people's privacy, but they seem to be in a bit of a bind here. Of course Zuckerberg has always said "the revenue funds the product, not he other way around" - in direct contrast to basically every company ever.

super-personalized and hyper efficiency will totally effect how we advertise and how we take in advertise
  •
A Forbes article that looks shallowly at a group of very in-depth suggested trends that seem to be a little far and high reaching, but I do agree that they are on point. I can see that this article is correct, but it will take more than one year for the commonplace Internet user to realize how it has infiltrated their every day Internet experience.
