With so many free and user friendly tech tools available for teachers, it's hard to know where to begin to put together a list of the best tools for teaching and learning so I decided to take a look at my own resources to determine which tools I use the most.

We love this document that Mark Anderson has produced for a training day at his school in North Somerset, UK. It succinctly provides the name of Web2.0 tools and gives you examples of how to use them. From our experience teachers did need quick, easy and fast ways to connect to new technology ideas. We think Mark achieves this very well!

a "top 10 list" of go-to technology tools to help inspire young students and empower under-funded teachers.

For those that don't work with an LMS, Engrade looks like a fine tool for educators.  It integrates some interesting power tools. Discussions, wikis, quizzes, messaging.  This might be an LMS substitute for those teachers looking for a free blended tech solution.  Worth investigating!

Storybird is a collaborative storytelling tool. Students use collections of art to be inspired to write stories. One the art is chosen, students are able to build there story by dragging and dropping pictures and creating a story to match. It's great for teachers because they're able to easily create student accounts and assignments for students. It's also simple to collaborate with others whether it's another student in class or someone from another country! Storybird is an extremely engaging site that allows students to focus more on the content of their writing rather than drawing pictures!

TabPilot is a cloud-based management system that puts teachers in control of classroom tablets while also providing MDM features for the IT department. Admins secure devices and distribute apps; teachers monitor student screens and freeze them when it's time for "heads up!" FocalPoint secure browser controls web browsing. Use your own tablets or our Breea tablets, and soon use iPads too! Ideal for 1-to-1 or shared-use.

Site where teachers share lessons. Lessons can be located using search on subject, level, content type, instructional type, filetype. You can even sort results by the ratings of other teachers.

I think this is an interesting use of Twitter, and makes me want to think of ways to use it my classroom as well
