We love this document that Mark Anderson has produced for a training day at his school in North Somerset, UK. It succinctly provides the name of Web2.0 tools and gives you examples of how to use them. From our experience teachers did need quick, easy and fast ways to connect to new technology ideas. Can someone who loves gardening as a hobby really make an impact? Robin Emmons did so with the help of volunteers and donors who made Sow Much Good grow from a backyard initiative into a community project. Tired of the rat race, Robin quit her job to do some self-searching. After a couple of weeks, she was told of her brother being held in jail for an undiagnosed schizophrenic outburst. Concerned about her brother's deteriorating health in the mental facility, she volunteered to bring fresh produce from her backyard garden… then realizing that her purpose was just around her-literally. Age is not something Parker Liautaud considered when he decided to do his share in saving the planet. He's been called a show-off, a spoilt kid, a climate change clown. Some people could not bring themselves to believe that someone under 20 would literally walk halfway around the world, in a biting cold environment, just to get the global warming message across. Ronny Edry describes himself as a father, a husband, a teacher, and an Israeli. What is he doing in theXtraordinary? Well, he started the Israel Loves Iran initiative by posting a photo of himself carrying his daughter who was holding an Israeli miniature flag. The caption read "Iranians, we will never bomb your country. We [heart] you." For the first time in his Facebook life, Ronny's post was shared and liked by many of his friends. Mackenzie Bearup may seem unfortunate for having been diagnosed to have an incurable disease known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. She, however, did not let this disability keep her from doing extraordinary things, like providing kids with distraction to help them cope with their emotional distress and physical pain. After discovering how books made her feel better despite the pain, she started a book drive that is now known as Sheltering Books. She just turned 18, so we could expect more good deeds from this lovely young lady who's in pain yet still managed to think of others.
