Offset Printing | Quality Printing Service Solution - 0 views

  •
Offset printing is a commonly used printing technique where an inked image is transferred from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to paper. Offset printing, or press printing, is a strategy for printing which uses the procedure of actually squeezing and picture or content onto a medium, for example, paper. Typically this is finished by exchanging a picture onto the medium by means of ink from a plate to an elastic cover and after that onto the print media. Offset printing(Multicolor Offset Printers) is the point at which a picture on a plate is "exchanged/offset" onto an elastic chamber which at that point exchanges the picture onto a sheet of paper. It doesn't go straightforwardly to the paper from the plates.

By balancing conventional and subversive academic possibilities, these latter objects show us the real potential of learning technologies. Not as sterile knowledge-delivery devices policed by authorized educators, but as boundary objects between endorsed educational utility and creative self-expression gone rogue.

  • Much like skateboarders have an imaginative orientation that allows them to see textures and movement in the curvatures of everyday objects -- a park bench, a railing, an empty swimming pool -- programmers learn to see their immediate environment as a creative space, a source for inspiration and improvisation.
  • This is distinct from other popular educational technologies -- many of which are marketed as subversive tools to "disrupt" traditional notions of learning, but often end up preserving those aspects of schooling that are most in need of disruption. In recent decades, districts have spent millions of dollars equipping classrooms with TVs, computers, and Smartboards -- only to find that such devices are mostly used to aid formal teaching instead of facilitating student discovery.

Print: These Lectures Are Gone in 60 Seconds - Chronicle.com - 0 views

  • HOW TO CREATE A ONE-MINUTE LECTURE Professors spend a lot of time crafting hourlong lectures. The prospect of boiling them down to 60 seconds â€” or even five minutes â€” may seem daunting. David Penrose, a course designer for SunGard Higher Education who developed San Juan College's microlectures, suggests that it can be done in five steps: 1. List the key concepts you are trying to convey in the 60-minute lecture. That series of phrases will form the core of your microlecture. 2. Write a 15 to 30-second introduction and conclusion. They will provide context for your key concepts. 3. Record these three elements using a microphone and Web camera. (The college information-technology department can provide advice and facilities.) If you want to produce an audio-only lecture, no Webcam is necessary. The finished product should be 60 seconds to three minutes long. 4. Design an assignment to follow the lecture that will direct students to readings or activities that allow them to explore the key concepts. Combined with a written assignment, that should allow students to learn the material. 5. Upload the video and assignment to your course-management software.   http://chronicle.com Section: Information Technology Volume 55, Issue 26, Page A13

21st Century Pedagogy | 21st Century Connections - 0 views

  • The sum of the students learning will be greater than the individual aspects taught in isolation.
  • Students should be involved in all aspects of the assessment process.
  • Linked to assessment  is the importance of timely, appropriate, detailed and specific feedback. Feedback as a learning tool, is second only to the teaching of thinking skills [Michael Pohl]. As 21st Century teachers, we must provide and facilitate safe and appropriate feedback, developing an environment where students can safely and supportively be provided with and provide feedback. Students are often full of insight and may have as valid a perspective as we teachers do.

  • ?    The use of technology = technological fluency, ?    Collecting, processing, manipulating and validating information = information fluency,?    using, selecting, viewing and manipulating media = media fluency,
  • Students must be key participants in the assessment process, intimate in it from  start to finish, from establishing purpose and criteria, to assessing and moderating. Educators must establish a safe environment for students to collaborate in but also to discuss, reflect and provide and receive feedback in.

In 1997, I said that "The Web is not the future, but a dynamic part of today."; the same still holds for Web 2.0 and beyond. It's an evolution (webolution - http://wgraziadei.home.comcast.net/Webolution.html ) not a revolution. It's time to STOP strategic planning and START strategic TEACHING.
