The three-year Diploma in Mobile Software would enable students to learn about the design and development of mobile applications used in smartphones. Reports highlighted that the students would be taught marketing strategies to sell the applications they had developed. The course would take in 40 students. Reports added that RP hoped to increase its academic intake in the next academic year. RP would be launching two other new diplomas, the Diploma in Consumer Behaviour and Research and the Diploma in Sports Coaching. RP would also be giving out 200 scholarships for the first time in the next academic year and each scholarship was worth $2,500 per academic year. ZB carried comments from P/RP that with more new courses and the new scholarships, RP was confident that it would attract outstanding Singaporean students to study at the polytechnic. CNA Online noted that RP said the new diplomas targeted students with an interest in the growing sports, marketing and mobile industries.

Smartphone Usage Statistics and Trends 2013 [Infographic] | AnsonAlex - 0 views

  • Mobile and smartphone usage is most prevalent in the morning and evening. Smartphone users tend to glance at and skim over emails more than desktop users who tend to fully read emails. Smartphone users around the world tend to use their smartphones at home more than anywhere else. From October 2010 to October 2012, email open rates on smartphones increased by 300%. Mobile email creates twice as many conversions as social and search. The average price of an order placed from a mobile device is higher than the average order from a tablet or desktop. Mobile and smartphone usage is higher Thursday – Monday than on Tuesday or Wednesday.
  •
As we use our smartphones more and more, our patterns of email reading and replying change. We could take note of these patterns, especially if doing surveys or email marketing campaigns, for better responses.

Something to note on some protection worth mentioning to educators when we bring them on board to the iBooks platform. "Books submitted to the iBookstore using a Paid Books Account can be protected by Apple's proprietary FairPlay DRM (digital rights management) system, which helps prevent unauthorized duplication of your book. (Movies and audio included in HTML5 widgets are not DRM-protected.)"

register2.html web content will be switched over on 13.01.2013 (thanks Bernard) Content for vetting by Eveleen and Dr Ashley. During 17.12.2013 meeting it was suggested that we 'manage' the NIE-Others ratio by stating along this line: Priority will be given to educators (after a certain percentage of registration is hit). Note also that since admission is free, people who sign up may not attend.
