iPads in the Spanish Classroom! - iPads in Education - 6 views

  • The app I used was called "Sock Puppets" They first wrote out a script then recorded them using the App. Finally, we had them switch iPads and watch the other "puppet shows".

This sounds like a fun thing to do with middle-schoolers!

I love the idea. But....unfortunately, how many public schools can or would fund a bunch of ipads to use in the classroom? I believe this is an expense that should be used. but, here in TX we dont even have $$ for basics! :(

We do a lot of TPRS at my school, so this would be helpful to bring the stories to life.

Start With Students: One Teacher's Design-Thinking Journey | Education Innovation D.C. - 5 views

  • My essential idea after many rounds of brainstorming was that students would self-select their station work after analyzing their individual data and creating their own personalized weekly learning plan.

We use iPads for games and other online learning apps on a regular basis.  Students have tracked their progress on apps only as far as getting so far = stickers/rewards.  Goal setting wasn't involved, nor were specific goals related to skills students needed to learn.  This could be a simple addition to our stations to make classroom learning with iPad apps more effective.

How to incorporate technology into station learning.
  •
Hi Diane: I am wondering, does your school support iPads for students in your class? or, is it required that they purchase their own. Is this an online class or a face-face class?
  •
We have a classroom set of iPads that are available. Students don't purchase them, the school got them through a grant.

Wow, this just seems like an awesome idea. I've been toying with the idea of getting an iPad, just for fun, and this makes me want to get one and play around with it before the next school year starts.
  •
I really like this idea! The teacher can give a much more detailed commentary on the assessment and with that the student may come away with a better understanding of necessary improvements.
  •
This is a great idea and I like that there are other gadgets that can be used in conjunction. However I assume this would only be useful if you are a f2f teacher. In Blackboard we have wimba voice authoring which allows us to give audio feedback. I use this tool a lot and I feel that those who actually listen to my feedback profit from it.

Evernote's Penultimate for iPad now behaves more like a real notebook - 2 views

  •
I have been using this app as a smart board. The advantages are: you can add/edit notes as you teach, highlight vocabulary or grammar elemen, you can also use notes from previous lessons and you could also email the presented material on the Ipad to students. Students love it and it makes learning more interactive.

I use evernote all of the time for a personal "to-do" list but I never thought of using it for class. Thanks for the great ideas!
