The Richmond Night Market is a Asian influenced market and one of the biggest in North America. I visited this market this past weekend while visiting cousins in Vancouver and got enriched in so much culture. Booths were filled with different cultural foods as well as arts. There was also a carnival area as well as a concert stage for different local bands to perform. It goes on all summer long so if your ever in Canada make sure to check this out!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's director Thomas P. Campbell announced Friday that over 400,000 high-resolution, digital images will now be available to download through the museum's website for free. The public domain works, all part of the museum's collection, will increase over time and be added to the site on a regular basis.

I was looking at upcoming events provided by the Hult Center's website because my roommate recently danced at a show there. I really liked the venue, and while browsing I stumbled upon this Art Walk that will take place in the beginning of June. It looks really interesting and fun!

I saw this website earlier in the year, but remembered it and wanted to share it with the class. Bryan Saunders decided one day that he wanted to create at least one self portrait everyday for the rest of his life, and so far he has completed over 8,000 of them. On his website he has created six different sections for his portraits based on similar themes, so pick a theme and prepare to be wow-ed.

Die Antwoord is a South African group that consists of performers Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er, and DJ Hi-Tek. I've never been to one of their concerts, but I've heard great things. According to everyone I've talked to about the group, their performances have been the most insane anyone has ever seen. Their concert is this Saturday at the Cuthbert Amphitheatre!! I strongly recommend attending this event!

Pixiv is a Japanese online community for artists. It aims to provide a place for artists to exhibit their illustrations and get feedback via a rating system and user comments. Works are organized in an extensive tag structure which forms the backbone of the website.

Drag and drop gifs, songs, videos, buckets of paint, or whatever you wish in open spaces called fields. You can invite friends to your fields and collaborate with them. Make it public for others to see. Discover new work, pull and edit fields, explore the user-generated libraries, and support the creative community.

I just downloaded it am going to play with it. Looks like a lot of fun and a offers the possibility of collaboration between people with different art interests. Thanks for sharing!

I'm particularly interested in this because I'm going to be starting a small record label with some friends this summer, and while we can predict the profitability of a certain distribution medium from a consumer's point of view, having the data laid out like this is very helpful.

I was always curious about it. The article was written in 2010 so I think musicians must earn more than in 2010.
