Non-profit supporting art and cultural venues dedicated to increasing popular awareness of, and participation in, the arts of Oakland. My sister currently attends the University of California, Berkeley and says this is a really cool event! It is held on he first Friday of every month and is a great way to bring the Bay area community together through arts. There are also events held of Saturdays that are pretty cool to check out as well.

Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival is the premier beer, Scotch, whiskey, and wine tasting experience benefiting the Fremont Chamber of Commerce's community grant programs. On April 18 and 19, indoors at Fremont Studios, Hop Scotch hosts the ultimate pop-up bar complete with tailor made tasting experiences certain to delight every guests' palate.

This sounds like a really fun time! Thanks for sharing. The next time I visit Seattle this time of year, I will definitely have to check this out.

I just came to Seattle to watch baseball tomorrow but sadly I think I miss the festival this time.. I should have come last weekend.

SCRAP is a donation-based creative reuse store and donation center in Northeast Portland. Along with the ever-changing and diverse store items, SCRAP also provides a range of educational opportunities within the community and hosts local reuse-based artists in our Re:Boutique. I worked here in high school and I loved it! They are a non-profit and they support the arts

The William James Association promotes work service in the arts, environment, education, and community development. Our major concern has been transformative arts experiences in nontraditional settings, working with prisoners, high-risk youth and parolees.

On Sunday, May 4, the Community Center for the Performing Arts hosts an Opening Reception for their exhibit "The Woodmen of the World: Their History and Their Hall" in celebration of Historic Preservation Month. The reception will include an exhibit talk and building tour led by historic preservation specialist Jon Pincus.

Pixiv is a Japanese online community for artists. It aims to provide a place for artists to exhibit their illustrations and get feedback via a rating system and user comments. Works are organized in an extensive tag structure which forms the backbone of the website.

Forward-looking organizers have turned to thinking inside the box for a new way to promote visual artists. Some of the artists, meanwhile, are thinking outside the box to produce 50 small works each. Modeled after community-supported agriculture programs in which participants buy shares in a farm and later receive boxes of produce, community-supported arts initiatives have sprouted on both sides of the river.

The time has come, it will be starting June 5 and go on until June 15. There will be three separate events throughout the week, all of which will be a little different. The whole beer community in Portland will be participating, everything from bars to pizza parlors. Three bigger events within the week will be the Fruity Beer Fest, which will be June 7-9. Then there will be the Rye Beer Fest, on June 13. Finishing of with the Beer And Cheese Festival, on the 15 of June.
