Online hiring challenges | Ways to tackle jobs | Pinhopes - 0 views

  •
Today employers face multiple challenges with traditional online hiring portals such as:

ü  Escalating cost of accessing candidates database which is largely unused

ü  Time-consuming candidate search and review process

ü  Hard to zero-in on the right resource

    ü  Limited branding options

Needless to say, all the above factors slow hiring online which delays bringing candidates on-board. To help employers tackle these online recruitment problems, Pinhopes - a new-age online hiring destination, has introduced innovative profile filtering features, video based online hiring process, multiple branding avenues combined with cost-effective payment option. Here are the key differentiators which help employers hire 3x faster:

Get relevant applications from interested candidates - Every time

Unlike existing online recruitment portals Pinhopes doesn't deal in database business which means employers are not required to search for right candidates, in a database which is largely unused. Instead employers get relevant applications directly from active job seekers for a job opening, without putting much effort.

No tedious candidate search process - Advanced built-in search bubbles best ta

Chart: Who Participates And What People Are Doing Online - 11 views

  •
Arno Ghelfi for Businessweek reports on who's doing what online, separated by age. The grid aesthetic totally works for the Internet theme, which can feel robotic and bit-wise at times. From top to bottom are the more active users to the more passive. Age groups run left to right. So as we sweep top left to bottom right, we see the younger generation who is more likely to write blogs and upload videos to YouTube, to an older crowd who are more likely to be content consumers.

Facebook Clones Friendfeed's "Like" Feature - 0 views

  •
Facebook seems to get more similar to FriendFeed every day. The latest, the addition of an "I like this" link on News Feed items, is one of the more significant challenges to the lifestreaming service yet, as it essentially duplicates a major component of what makes FriendFeed tick - a simple, one-click display of indicating your liking of a specific item in a stream of activities and a view of all of the other people that have also liked it.

Digital Digressions: Blog Addiction Disorder (BAD) - 0 views

  •
Yesterday something terrible happened. I got home early thinking I might try this 'working from home' thing, which means you can sit in the garden, stroke the cat AND pretend to be thinking about work at the same time. A nice concept, but rudely thwarted when I tried to turn on my computer. It all started when trying to log into Messenger - no success, Wireless network is showing full reception so I start scratching my head and wonder whether Airport Base Station is having hiccups. Go downstairs, plug laptop straight into router, router blinking happily showing what is known in IT circles as 'activity', to me I just know the thing isn't bust yet - but no, nada, niente - plenty of blinking but NO INTERNET. Panic grabs hold of me - this can't be...surely. Reset Router, faff around with ports and cables, unplug from phone filter, replug, phone works, router still OK, but Internet? No way, Jose. What to do?

  •
After the flurry of activity around the use of Google Sites for Nonprofits, and the resultant discovery that Google Sites (may) be more flexible than I imagined (during a late-night edit session), I went searching for exemplary Google Sites that others could use as inspiration. And found few. So, if anyone is game, we would like to hold a Google Sites design competition. The idea of the competition is simple... [read more]
