  •
hi again! Im back to show you now a resource for teachers. Here you have a website where you can find rubrics for us, future teachers. Well It's for teachers but we have to feel familiar with them because they are so important. Evaluation is very relevant in the teaching learning process so better not forget it!
  •
I also think it is important to get familiar to rubrics in order to use them properly in the future. So far, I believe rubrics are a communicative tool that let your students know what you expect from them.
  •
Yes, I agree with Inma, with this assessment tool children will be more confident in the learning process, because they will know exactly what they have to achieve. Security and self confident can increase easily :)

Storytelling resource - 5 views

  •
Hi classmates! I want to share with you a quite helpuf resource I've found on the net. As we all know and as we have been told since the beginning of our lessons, storytelling can be perfect tool for English lessons. On this web, we as teachers and our pupils can create our own stories in a dynamyc and funny way. First of all, you have to choose the theme the story is going to be about and the grade of your pupils. Afterwards, it appears a kind of spin with different levers, and so comes to the screen aleatory facts to make an story. Afterwards, we can choose the format for our story and we can select the option of making a draw. Once we have completed this step, it's time to write the story and make a picture if we want. Finally, you can download the story in your computer. I would like you to have a look at this fantastic resource which appart from working storytellings, promotes the use of the ICT's. I hope you enjoy it.

Hello Group!!! It's a very good web page and very useful for us. In this PDF we can find information about planning. It answers different questions, like for example, why is planning important, what aspects you have to include in a lesson plan, etc. On the other hand, the guide also explains us five aspects that must be included in a lesson plan: -Learning Objectives -Assessments -Activities -Materials and Resources -Wrap-up and Reflection Finally, the guide includes an appendix with three resources as: Lesson Plan Templates; Sample Lesson Plan and Sample Rubrics. It's very recommendable for young teachers because it explains very well the importance of planning

Storytelling: The very hungry caterpillar - 0 views

  •
Hi classmates! This is my second contribution in diigo. Last week we had an exhibition of storytelling. One of the stories that the professional told us was "the very hungry caterpillar", written by Eric Carle. I strongly believe that tell our students this story could be very useful, especially because it contains lots of interesting vocabulary. Here, in this page, you can find plenty of activities that will reinforce the vocabulary learnt by the students. As we have seen this weeks in the university, English classroom is dominated by the textbook. It decides what we have to do in the classroom. Nevertheless, we can use a lot of resources in order to produce intrinsic motivation in our pupils. I consider that storytelling can be a good learning tool because it promotes among other things, creativity and imagination. Furthermore, if we use stories in class, we will encourage the development of language among students. Here you can read the story http://www.hubbardscupboard.org/Very_Hungry_Caterpillar_Printable_Booklet.PDF I hope you like it!

Hangman - 1 views

  •
Hi guys! Today I am going to share with you a game quite interesting. It is available in three languages and also has three different levels of difficulty. I used it last year in the practices and the truth is that children were highly motivated. Hangman is an example of competitive game. Pupils play in order to be the first to achieve the goal. This type of game is very motivating for students. However, teachers must teach them to enjoy participating and the right attitude when losing a game. Furthermore, 'Run and point' is another game that can be played in a competitive way. So long!

I really like this game! I think you can use in primary perfectly! It also includes different topics and levels! Jorge, thank you very much!

Assessment of Young Learners - 10 views

  •
This article discusses different types of assessment and recognizes the importance of affective considerations for the acquisition of a foreign or second language.
  •
I find this article quite interesting, especially the last part that talks about the portfolio. I think that the author explains briefly and simply in what it consists. On the other hand, I agree with the writer's conclusions. I strongly believe that we must use various assessment tools in the classroom of FL in order to be as objective as possible and to develop all the skills and abilities of the student. As we have just seen in class the exam tests serves for the memory capacity but does not encourage critical thinking and autonomy on the part of the learner. Thank you so much for sharing it!
  •
This article emphasizes the need for teachers to use a variety of types of alternative assessments. I think it could be quite useful to remind us the different techniques of assessment that we can do and the most important thing: they can be used every day in our class. We have to start to discard the traditional tests that only indicated us a numerical description about our students. In our future we are going to be teachers so we have to be aware of the different kind of assessment to take them into practice. Rather useful the article.

To have clear ideas about Planning - 2 views

  •
Good Morning mates! I have found this article of Cambridge where explains for to create effective language lessons. But I want to do reference in pages 35-42 because we can solve doubts we have about planning, is very simple. Here explains the advantages (is a road map for the teacher, provides security, determines sequencing and timing) Also, this article advises us about the essential aspects to take into account to develop an effective plan, as the way to approach goals, groupings, resources. It´s very easy to understand, and only in seven pages!

Spot the difference - 0 views

This is another interesting game that stresses that children have to look at the small details. It can be played individually, in pairs or in teams but usually, it is played in pairs. Pair-work offers intensive, realistic practice promoting a friendly classroom ambiance in which multiplies the opportunity to practice the language. It is an efficient way of spending classroom time. I strongly recommend you to use it in the class!
  •
Thanks Jorge! Both are interesting games which we can use in a class for practice different attitudes. With this one, for instance, we can work also the visual intelligence. Good work!
  •
I always liked that game :)

Resources for EL teachers - 1 views

On this webside you will find a series of intersting articles by Littlejohn. The article "Language teaching in schools: What do students learn? (1995)" describes learning outcomes which go beyond and beneath the (simple) aims of a syllabus.
  •
Ummm, really interesting documents to better our lessons. First, I tried the one about sharing decisions with the students and I must say it is very clarifying about how to provide decision making for pupils so that they could be more engaged with the learning.

Hello mates!! This video is about Classroom management. I think that can be useful to answer questions about how to promote positive behaviour in our classrooms. The ability to control a group of students will depend on the teacher and the measures he/she adopted.
